Puzzle Quest 2 is a competitive match-3 game. You play each game against a computer-controlled opponent, and both of you are trying to collect colored gems and special tokens by making matches. On each turn, you have to decide whether to make a match that will benefit you, prevent your opponent from making a match that will benefit them, or use an object or ability to hinder or cause damage to your opponent. The opponents' strengths and abilities vary from game to game, and you can customize your own strengths and abilities as you gain experience. This makes for a match-3 game that allows for surprisingly interesting strategy. The story behind the game is a pretty standard set of fantasy quests, but it's humorously written, and the characters you meet are each different, and all entertaining.
