What I don't understand is why we couldn't keep our old Gametap launcher. And they moved the browser. That I think is there problem. I may be wrong but 3.0 wasn't so bad.

Im cancelling my subscription.I cant get any games to work. What ever you have done to this once great games program-its broke.Im tired of waiting for a real fix.All the fixes you have sent out dont work for most of your users.I know this just by reading the complaints on the boards.I have enjoyed this game service while it was a good/working program. You need to hire programers that understand todays software and computers. Not 1980s software/computers.64 bit is so common now and yet you treat it as some futuristic computer program.Someone in your company should be help accountable for not taking care of customers and providing service that is able to work with todays computers.Another lost customer signing up with a working game site

Post Re: 4109 Error Description - The Real Story
I downloaded the new version about two weeks ago and have been playing for the whole time with no problems. Last night I finished a game that I was playing and downloaded another one. When i tried to play it I got the 4109 error. Now it gives me the error on any game I try to play, even the one I just played. I tried the fix and nothing. I looked at my drives and X and Y are not assigned to anything. What gives?? I think that I liked the old Gametap better.

I wonder if one of the virtual drives is "stuck" somehow, have you tried just rebooting your computer?

On vista, the mapped drives page is located at My Computer and is located on that toolbar right next to Uninstall or Change Program. If your computer is like mine, every drive Z-A is blank.

Typically you can look at "My Computer" where it lists C:\, D:\, etc. If you don't see an X:\ or Y:\ drive, you're usually okay.

I can't get any desktop games to work either. X and Y aren't mapped, I've downloaded and run the fix in administrator mode and rebooted several times. No joy.

I'm running Windows Vista 32 with all updates, IE 8 with all applicable updates. My system is completely stable other than this problem. I have plenty of drive space (4 TB or so total, 250GB on the C: where the games are installed).

Any ideas? This is very frustrating.

I just tried and got the same results in Firefox, so I guess the problem isn't IE8.

I get the 4109 every time I download a new game.

Sometimes the fix works, sometimes it takes a couple times doing the same thing for it to work.

And sometimes after playing the game fine a few times the error crops up again. Again, one or more iterations of the 'fix' and sooner or later it works.

Games involved are the newer games, like Titan Quest and Sid Meier's Pirates.

My kids' computer is running XP and they've not had any issues.

Just wanted to drop a line so that the developers know there is still more work to be done on the issue. The 'fix' is not nearly stable enough yet.

And P.S. I love Gametap. Please fix it... :)

ArtStanton, the fix is a one time thing, you should run it once and never need it again. I've updated the instruction recently and it has resolved the issue you're having. It would probably be worth looking at again, http://support.gametap.com/selfservice/template.do?id=1620. The differences are subtle but effective.

I've tried everything that has been offered as a fix...My daughter played a pajama sam game the other night, and the next night, I got the 4109 error.. And now I cant even reload these games. So I tried to download another game...Putt, Putt, (stop laughing), it wouldnt load, and I tried another Putt Putt game, This time it downloaded...but wouldnt launch... I have seriously tried the recommended steps 5, or 6 times now... to the letter. No avail. I have signed up for a years worth of premium access...NOW WHAT?..I dont want to cancel, or demand a refund...I just want what I paid for... Im willing to be patient... But my little girl isnt so patient... believe me, I HAVE tried everything that has been offered in order to straighten this mess out...to no avail...I do find it courious that some people have had luck with the driver update...and some have not...Could it be a firewall thing?...Or maybe a PC security program conflict?...just guessing...
Thanks.

Oh yeah
HURRY UP!!
LOL

Have you tried submitting a support ticket? Things get lost in this thread.

OK. Right after leaving my last post, I thought I would give it one more try before bed.. And the little Putt Putt game worked!!... So I think the problem is not on my end.. It seems to be an intermittent problem on the server side... Also, the game was in full screen mode too.. That was cool.. I hope this means that GT has found the gremlin in the machine...
Thanks.

Hey folks,

I don't know if any of you are experiencing this, but the fix doesn't work permanently. If I play a windows based game (titan quest), exit out, and then try to start up another windows based game (overlord) I get the 4109 error. Don't know if this is a new layer to the problem or not, but it's annoying.

Keep working hard.

TooCruel, you should use the tool, then once you get a successful game play, you should immediately reboot. That should make the fix permanent.

Thanks for the advice. But that does not work. Here are my steps :

1. Downloaded pc_driver_restart.
2. Ran pc_driver_restart.
3. Rebooted
4. Open browser and went to http://www.gametap.com and logged in.
5. Started Overlord successfully and exited game.
6. Rebooted.
7. Opened browser and went to http://www.gametap.com and logged in.
8. Started Overlord successfully and exited game.
9. Tried to start Titan Quest. 4109 error comes up.

I run Windows XP and am using firefox (orca browser version) as my browser.

Thanks for the help, but so far the patch doesn't stay put.

Are you able to run other games successfully? Is it only Titan Quest that is the problem?

No, I can't run any combination of two games in a row. I tried Snowy Lunch Rush and Overlord and vice versa. I've also tried running the same game twice. I tried Overlord, ran it successfully, exited and then tried to run it again, but received the 4109 error.

Are we going to get any type of credit for the lost time and FRUSTRATION?

If you are still getting this error after you have applied the fix, and you are *not* trying to play one of our new games that requires a key download (Titan Quest, Warhammer 40K or Full Spectrum Warrior), then please post your logs here so we can try to figure out what may still be happening to some of you.

i downloaded the driver fix and it says my drivers were succesfully reset but gametap is saying they are still mapped and i restarted before resetting them im trying to play rappala fishing

Well, I'm trying not to get frustrated, but it's a bit difficult.

First, I decide to put all my games in my alternate bigger hard drive, so I follow the instructions for that, but the games all stop working. I try to reverse what I did, then the games all crashed before even starting.

Now, I uninstalled and reinstalled everything pertaining to GameTap, and I'm getting a 4109 error. Here's what I've tried (in order):
1. Downloaded driver reset program.
2. Rebooted.
3. Ran driver reset program.
4. Tried Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Got 4109 error.
5. Tried Commandos 3. Got 4109 error.
6. Redownloaded program.
7. Reboot.
8. Reran program.
9. Reboot.
10. Tried both games. Got 4109 error.

I really don't know what can be wrong. I've already wasted probably a month's subscription trying to fix this. I'm running Vista 32-bit. I have a printer plugged into the computer, but I tried unplugging that and the games still didn't work. I can't find any X or Y drives.
