Like many of you, I like playing people via multiplayer. But when I want play, no one's online, or some people don't want you playing in their games. To tell you the truth, it can get pretty frustrating. There are some multiplayer games on here that I've tried and couldn't get connected with other players. Wouldn't it be nice to know who's on from here?

I have started messing around with Windows Live messenger, and found a way to create a group site just for us. I have hope this will be a way we can get together easier to set up matches or even to play retail games not offered on the service (ex: Borderlands). Basically, it would be an unofficial Gametap group so we can see who is online and wanting to play some games. I'm assuming you'd need to have a windows live or MSN account and the messenger, which is normally standard on most PCs. I don't want to do anything elaborate unless there's some interest in this. I'll post the address if anyone wants it but just so you know, it's kind of bland right now. Some games are easier than others to connect so we'll have to find out for ourselves the best ones to set up. Eventually, we might be able to set up clans or other events through the official forum if we're lucky. Also, if any of the admins have questions or would like to have ownership of this, I'm all for it.
This really is the only way I see to set up multiplayer matches. You can't do it through a browser.

I'll be on this Friday myself and will try to set up some matches for us. I plan for it to be at varied times so you can play on your schedule once I get a routine going. It'll get even better with the more people we have join, so stay tuned!

Update: I changed my message a little bit as I think we should start smaller. Not sure if we can set anything up with on such short notice, as people would need time to download games. It'll be harder than I thought to plan matches, but I'll try think of something. A good reason for group idea as people can pick their own matches.

I am always looking for co-op so just send me a message with time and game and I will let you know if i can do it.

i think a xfire group would be better

Thanks for the input. Zandor got me started on Xfire a while back, and it worked out pretty well. It works for just about any game installed on my PC. The MSN idea sounded good at the time because of the potential of making a personalized web page, but who has the time.
