i always wondered how come atari games had no music?

Some of them had brief music, but you're right not that many.. They used MIDI files for the ones that did, like Pacman. This system came out originally in 1977 and only had about 128 bytes of RAM and the game tapes were limited to 4 Kb, but it opened the door to the home console gaming industry. Seems like almost a lifetime ago. :-)
