Hi Gametapians!

We've heard you!

Obviously, many of you encouter problems when you wanna unsubscribe to Gametap. Yes, we'd really prefer you to stay with us, but we don't create bugs on purpose :p.

Many people says that the form doesn't work. So for now, if you have problems with the form, please send an e-mail to:
subscription-support@gametap.com
with your order #, your nickname and your e-mail adress.

PS : please, if you were unable to use the form, can you tell us here what happened ? If you have screenshots, it's even better. We searched for bugs and couldn't find any yet, so it would be very useful.

Like others here, I decided the service was way to stressfull and required entirely too much troubleshooting from the user. I had many problems as well with games that wouldn't work quite right or even at all. Downloading was also difficult. I really miss the stand alone player.

That said, I had a very good response from customer service when it came time to cancel. The reply was prompt, friendly, and even asked if I would send a reply with my thoughts and reasons for cancel.

So, it's not all bad. Then again, I didn't come off all angry and stupid. A little respect goes a long way. Even if you are mad.

Good job Luke, excellent customer service.

I've tried using the web form several times and I used this new email process also and I still cannot cancel the subscription. I called the 866 number but there is nobody there. I checked and you still charged me this month. so this is 3 months now that I've been charged since I started trying to unsubscribe.

I'm no longer interested in being polite as another poster said. I have been polite and tried to follow all the process that was available. I just want to unsubscribe and I would like to at least get a notification from someone to indicate that it has been done.

If I do not receive a response by tomorrow to tell me that my subscription is canceled I will tell my credit card company to refuse all further charges from your company!

My handle is "TheBorello". If you check your email and look at the web form, which you said is working, you should see several from me. Please response and acknowledge you received the request and that it has been done.

Well, I guess that works. I just posted my previous message and sent email to cancel again and fill out the web form also and then I got two responses saying that my unsubscribe request sent last month was processed. It would be way less ill will if the process was simpler, an email back indicating that the process was on going instead of a generic response saying you received the email would have been nice.

Just a for the record:

I started the service about two weeks ago, I think, and canceled my subscription for the sole reason that I don't like things like this auto-renewing itself. I had absolutely no problems with unsubscribing. Found it easily, followed the directions, left the information MetaRaka asked for, and my cancellation was processed very quickly. Just because you have problems with it doesn't mean it's GameTap's fault.

I tried cancelling the subscription. Been a subscriber for many years now, but a lot of the retro games that we joined for are no longer being offered.

I tried the webform, and it came back with a "your question returned no results, would you like to speak to an agent". . . does this mean the form I filled out wasn't received? It was just some attempt to search the knowledge base?

If it was an actual form, that someone will see, then there should be a confirmation message or something that that it was received, and will be dealt with as soon as possible, not the above message.

I am going to try the email link listed above now.

I filled out the web form about 2 weeks ago. I sent an e-mail to the address listed about a week ago. I haven't received any response from either.

My tapID is despa. My account is set to renew this month, and I want it canceled. Please make my life easier and cancel it before you charge me for another year and then tell me I can't get the money back.

This unsubscription method is unprofessional. If you automatically create accounts and automatically charge credit cards, we should be able to automatically and instantly unsubscribe.

So, someone told me about this when I brought up about cancelling my subscription. Idk if yall got it, but it keeps saying my form isint going through. I just want it cancelled, cause I wont be on the internet much anymore :[. Ill miss Gametap, but can yall cancel it for me?

You need to automate the process, I just canceled my account and will not be returning until you do. As it is now it's like one of those bad free credit report sites where it's a pain in the ass to not get charged once you sign up.

For example I canceled 4 days before I was to be billed again, I got no answer until the day after I was billed.... thanks for taking my money 5 days after I asked to cancel.

Complete rip off.

You sent in your cancellation request 9 days after your subscription renewed and you where sent a confirmation of your cancellation exactly 15hrs and 16 minutes later. So your facts and numbers are wrong.

No one "should" ever have to wait longer than 24 hours for the cancellation to be processed.

I apologise for hijacking this thread, but I have now sent 1 email and submitted 2 webform's to no response over the past 2 weeks.
