 Humble Thoughts
I sign up for a free subscription account to give the service a try, the game that I spent approximately 4 or 5 hours over the last 2 days has now gone to a pay to play game, in the matter of a couple of hours that I was downloading it today(psychonauts). I should have known better than to sign up for this crummy service. It's a shame when something is supposed to be free, it actually means we'll provide this to you as long as it's convenient for us or we feel like changing it, so that we can try and squeeze a few bucks out of you. I don't need this service any more and won't be back. Good riddance and I hope that others who won't write in do the same. This is why your product is destined for failure. I can get the same stuff elsewhere for free, and not get bent over in the process.

 Re: Humble Thoughts
I think if you give GT a try (paying customer), you'll probably find it enjoyable. Or, stick to the free games (both temporary and permanent) because there's a lot of fun ones there, too.
Personally, I find speding $60 a year for over 1000 games saves me a ton of money since I'm not going out and buying games anymore. But to each his/her own.
Hope you decide to give it another chance -- great value for the money.

 Re: Humble Thoughts
I sure would like to know where you can get the same "stuff" for free! Oh well looks like Gametap lost another non-paying customer. Or as I like to call them whining mooches. Really is 10$ that hard to come up with?!

Unfortunately a vast majority of this selection is widely available on the internet. Sure, they may not be the most legitimate of channels, but they are available and surely free as long as you're willing to put the time in. If the service was good enough I would have considered upgrading, just like many other things I use(Netflix, etc...). Whining mooches is cute, call it what you will. But the fact is what is supposed to draw me in? The terrible free games? I don't think so. And of course 10 bucks isn't hard, but for a yearly 120 dollar investment. I'd rather have something else. Just my humble opinion.

 Re: Humble Thoughts
And you triggered the magical "we don't discuss less than legitimate ways of getting stuff" clause. Thanks for your opinion, unfortunately "I can pirate it" is not allowed to discuss on the forums. If discussion heads that direction any furthere I'll be forced to lockith the thread. (Also by analogy, my grocery store hands out tiny samples of free stuff all the time, of course there are "less than legitimate" ways of getting it for cheapers, paying the stockboy for exampel to throw bags of it out the window, but it's really not a reason to consider not shopping any more.)

 Re: Humble Thoughts
Most subscription folks on here seem to be pretty happy with GT. Provided your computer is working and configured correctly, there is very little reason why you shouldn't be able to enjoy the games/service.
Personally, I would like to see more people sign up -- more subscription = more games (one would think). So, instead of bashing people for being "whining mooches" all of us would do better by encouraging the free-lookers.
On an unrelated note, totally PSYCHED that Heroes V is on here...played all the others, and now I get to play the 5th one for $5 a month! Very cool!
