I'm with everyone else, the developers of gametap, should have gave the paid subscribers an option to use the player which is very great in the first place there was no problems it was very easy to use, now the browser is very confusing it has too many options, that my daughter who is five years old, does not want to play any more, she loses interest because it is too hard to navigate!, on the player, I would sign her in automatically where all she had to press the button and the player would automatically launch, browsing the player was safe and a ease, now she has to type her name and password in "she cannot spell or read by the way" and get confused on a browser that is unsafe and has ads that could lead to inappropriate content?

Gametap, sure messed up this time

Please listen to your customers and give us our player back

Second. There was no logical reason to remove the stand-alone client. Especially since removing the player costs the PAYING CUSTOMER a number of features that they have yet to get to work in the browser. Not to mention the fact that games have ceased to work for a number of people (me included).

Its your guys fault! From what i heard everyone on the fourms was complaining about the client. I wasn't active enough to save us....why....*falls over in pain* kil..l...kill me...for tr..eas..on

Why do all programs have to be browser based now? Web browsers are TERRIBLE for anything other than web browsing. The old player was much nicer, was much easier to use, etc. Some upper management moron read a book about Web 2.0 and said "That's what we need!". Well, unless things improve considerably, I won't be staying much longer. It's AWFUL.

K so, it's been over an hour and i've been trying to d/l a 588mb game, A few days ago it took less then 20 mins, if not alot less. Now it's quoting me at 44mins and it's still only d/l'd 1%. This is awesome!!!!

While I want the player back too, I've realized it won't be coming back. Ever.

GT's under new management, and we won't see GT going back on the changes they've made.

now that they did this retarded browser only half the games i "was" playing don't work at all and eny games i "wanted" to play take 5x longer to download now

i give them till the end of april to eather

fix it

or convert to the old one

then im going to stop subscription

no point in paying for games i can't play

I too am also very unhappy with the browser player... My main reasons-

1.) The browser has to refresh any time I want to quit playing a game and browse around for another one. With the GT player I could just close the game and immediately start browsing games seamlessly. Browsing and starting/stopping games is just far slower and much less convenient/organized.

2.) No full screen. -Is that at least going to be temporary?

I'll check up on GT to see if any improvements are made but for now- /unsubscribed.

But also many have valid point. For a pay service they should have worked out more of the bugs before changing and should have done a gradual move (allow people to volunteer) to avoid these mass sort of problems. And I see you all over this board bragging about yours working and that others should not complain. One of my machines works but another does not so I can understand the frustration.

I agree with everyone, I preferred the old player, and Gametap should have surveyed the paid users as to which platform was preferred. I cant stand the web-based interface. Also I've been a Gametapper for several years...and this bites

The Join dates, from what I recall, have been reset since the new forums and systems have been put in place.

I have been using Gametap for 1-2 years and it says I joined yesterday. I would not go by that date.

Support as well.

I payed the fee for the player and to have an easy way to browse through games.

This system is complicated and annoying.

It's a pain in the butt to search through all the games now and not to mention they're not even fullscreen. And there's a ton of bugs.

I payed for the client, not this stupid web browser.

Sure the client had its bugs but this is just terrible.

What on earth where you thinking? Really what where you.

It's decisions like this that make things fail, consult your userbase not your employees.

They don't pay for it, WE do.
