Let's Reccomend Comic to Each Other!
Like the title says!
I read Batman: Joker's Asylum recently. It's a pretty interesting compilation, 5 different stories of some of the various Batman villains, with different writers and artists for each one. Some add more depth like The Penguin's, some are just pretty cool stories. And Joker acting as a crazy Rod Sterling-style "host" gets some nice lines. I'd reccomend it for any Batman fans.
Also reading Alan Moore DC stories right now. Giving me a better appreciation for him than "that guy with the crazy beard who gets mad when people make movies of his comics".

Watchmen i would have to recommend.
some of the story arcs on Hellblazer were pretty good too.
sin city was another really good one imo
I'm glad you made this thread. i always want to read more comics but i'm afraid to spend money on crappy ones.

Alan Moore is a good one, there is a great interview/biography of him I'd recommend; The Mindscape Of Alan MooreI re-read Black Hole, by Charles Burns recently it's just as good as ever. I'm hoping to pick up The Runaways on the way home today, I'll read pretty much anything by Brian Vaughan. I'll let you know how it goes. I'd recommend some of his other work like Y: The Last Man, and Ex Machina.

Runaways Vol. 1 was pretty cool, I'll get into Vol.2 tonight. It took me ever to find these because they were published in a non-standard manga size graphic novel, and filed under manga despite them being Marvel comics... weird, get your nerd sections straight Barnes & Noble.

Re: Let's Reccomend Comic to Each Other!
I think I read a little bit of Runaways once, been meaning to read more. Hellblazer, Y The Last Man, and Ex Machina are on my "Read sometime" list, trying to finish off some ones I'm buying that I know have definitive endings first.
I feel like I'll spoil Sin City 2 if I read Sin City. D: On the other hand, Rodriguez looks too busy making Kids Movie Exactly Like Spy Kids But With More Drugs Part 382497, so I might end up just getting some (I know one of the stories came with the Sin City special edition, too).
Haven't heard of Madam Mirage before, what's it about?

Re: Let's Reccomend Comic to Each Other!
Bumping.
Have to say that Fables is just pure awesome. It takes all the fairy tale characters and such, and bumps them into the modern age in the human world. Just finished volume 5, and the series tends to be excellent at taking every character, every plot detail, every little thing that shows up in one spot in one issue and bringing it back. Nothing ever feels wasted.
(And yes, I know I'm behind since they're coming out with Volume 13 soon, but sssh)
