So recently I purchased the game MW2 on Steam, been playing for something like 10 - 12 hours and was on the rank 29.

THEN, when it changed map, it went crazy and everyone could jump stupidly high and kinda floated. Suddenly I was on rank 70 and have been on the rank since then. Gameplay is normal again, but I want my old rank back !

I'm guessing I was a victim of a hack (So I have reset my password)

Amyone on here experienced something similar? Or can fill me in on what may have caused this?

No clue what happened to you since I have the game on Xbox. But you can get your old rank back; if the game truly thinks you're rank 70 then you can go prestige and start over again at rank 1 with a new icon.

I was playing Black Ops for PS3 and I randomly fell though the floor and the game ended as I died from falling and when I saw my score I was on the top of the scoreboard and I went from level 50 non prestige to 15 prestige level 50 ... but it corrected it self when I restarted the game but what was weird was I had every weapon and everything unlocked I did one match and thought to my self cheating doesn't do anyone good so I restarted PS3 and started the game but it left me 1st prestige level 21 after that it kept the stats I'm not one for keeping glitched stuff but I'm not going to complain too much that I am Prestige 1 level 21 lol at least its not Pre-15 rank 50 lol

Yeah so I went prestige.... I didnt want to though. I liked my old rank.
Still find it kinda weird how it all happened though .

I dunno I might it kinda sucks MW3 is coming out a few days before Skyrim which is what I am getting for sure for PS3! I really want to play it though i liked Black Ops alot! I really want to do the single player just to continue the story from MW2 I love the MW story I wanna know what happens to good ol' Soap and Capt Price!!

And, Viperony, getting Elderscrolls on something other than PC? Heresy! Blasphemy! Anathema! It's not Elderscrolls without mods and you can't mod it on anything but a PC. I'd recommend, unless your comp is on its last legs, get the PC version anyway even if you have to run it on "low" because infinite expansion through mods > pretty pictures. Not to mention you'll still have it when you do finally get that bitchin' new system (assuming that's the issue).

I suggest you both get MW3 so we can start up our own GT clan and kick some butt !

This exactly. I have it pre-ordered on Steam because of the mods. Same with Rage, which is releasing with mod tools. Any game that I think might be heavily modded, I instantly buy on PC.

Not getting MW3 myself. Already pre-ordered and paid for Rage, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, Batman Arkham City, The Darkness 2, Mass Effect 3 (last two come out next year). Huh lots of 3s this year. Bought several others in late August too, so if I buy more right now, my wife will kill me.

Probably going to see if someone wants to toss me MW3 for christmas, if I don't get it though, not going to be sad.

I know its a head on sin for not getting it for PC and I know what you mean about mods lol I modded the crap out of Oblivion lol reason I want it for PS3 is cause of HDness and 51' HD 1080i Sony LCD TV!! but me want mods.... argh my god what have I done... your right i should get it for PC! lol I have a clan already going on PS3 black ops and Battlefield 3 in the Battlelog! This just happened to me again! I tried to join a team deathmatch game and I ended up in a headquarters game so I left straight away... Then I noticed I was on 70 again and had to prestige. Another 10 hours wasted. No more modern warfare 2 for me...... I actually hate that game now

You probably are joining a hack hosted server, found it is very common with this game. Here are two links that should help you restore your profile, or at least keep it from happening again:

I found similar articles last night, so I just reset my whole profile and started again from scratch. I'll just continue playing till they release MW3.... Suppose they will have the same problems with that though.

maybe I dunno I don't know what its like with CoD games on PC I only played them on PS3! Is it like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 online with punkbuster? Cuz they auto notice a hack and kick the player out of the game!
