 new encryption and modding
Im know there aren't alot of games with the new encryption so far, but I was wondering if anyone had attempted to install any mods on the games that are on the new encryption, and if so if they were succesful.
Not really looking to mod any of the games available on the new system yet but there are definetly titles on Gametap that have some good mods out there.

 Re: new encryption and modding
Moved, I figured this was more of a "Gametap Games" thing.

 Re: new encryption and modding
So far I've tried modding UT3 with "The Haunting" mod with no success, but have added maps. I also patched it with no problems.

Well, the fact you have had some success is promising. If eventually modding on Gametap becomes largely viable it will raise the value of the service significantly imo.

 Re: new encryption and modding
In most cases .ini and .cfg files are now exposed opening the door lots of simple modifications and cheats.

 Re: new encryption and modding
yep- i was able to successfully put in cheat codes into my Blood Money game. We need to get a 64 bit Far cry (or any far cry 2, he he) up in here stat. trying to beat that on realistic w/o silenced weapons is angering. One problem i did have was finding the correct clothing files (trying the coveted "agency" mod i found online--playing it as Resident Evil's "Wesker" was quite appealing to me). The guide i found on how to change them said it would be a txt file, but i found just about everything but a txt file when i got to the M(number number) folders. No matter--like said earlier, some success is helpful to the future.

Cannot find the hitmancontracts.ini txt document to input cheats. Any ideas?
