Do you have Civ IV Warlords already downloaded? Go ahead and delete it from the download manager, the Civ IV Beyond The Sword download is also bundled together with Warlords. Your save games are in the documents folder and will be retained.

That's a temporary problem that sometimes occurs right after game release. If you run into the downgrade page, just go back to the game page and try to download again.

I've pimped this mod before, but I'll pimp it again: I recommend everyone try out the "Rhye's and Fall of Civilizations" mod that comes with BTS. It's quite different from the normal game, and the best alternate history engine I've seen.

Speaking of new games, in case anyone doesn't read the blog, next week's game is CivCity : Rome.

Missing DLL files are typically problems with the computer itself not the software.
Have you tried searching for this DLL and downloading it? Typically that fixes it. If it doesn't try reinstalling Direct X. I'm pretty sure that's where that DLL is from.

Yes. You'll need to download and install the patch to play multi.

I can't get this to work it keeps tell me a dll file is missing ive redownloaded it 5 times warloads don't work BTS don't work. hell on the BTS download i can't get any thing to work and on the worlords download can only get civ 4 to work. this game is the only reason i came back was the only reason i left cause of not working and now is the reason i'm leaving again. game tap is a good idea but my PS3 never lets me down I guess i have to go back to it. Email me when you get this game right i might waste my money 1 more time on you

I am planning on downloading this to play with my wife.

This game gave me the blue screen of death and restarted my computer. I tried updating my drivers and reinstalling Direct X. Same issue. Is there something else I should tweak?

Why not just buy it from the shop for a one-time charge of a mere $9.95, then you can own it forever? And you won't have to deal with the GT player giving you grief.

I can't get this game to work....
Says the shader file is missing or won't load.
I have noticed a number of games won't load properly.
All I can say is....I will not waste another penny on this site.

More than likely you need to:

# Update your video card drivers.
# Update DirectX to the latest redistributable (i.e. not the web setup)

Failing that, ask for support in the tech support forum, don't hijack 2 month old news threads.
