Today GameTap re-launched our Parental Controls and Sub-account management tools. You can access these tools by clicking on your My GameTap button, and selecting the Parental Controls tab. From this tab you can create and delete sub-accounts as well as manage the settings and permissions for them. Currently you may create up to 6 sub-accounts and may have up to 2 users playing simultaneously. As the primary account holder you have the ability to limit a sub-account’s access to games based on content, i.e. ESRB ratings, and you can schedule times to allow play, or limit the amount of time spent playing. Full instructions for the configuring Parental Controls will be available shortly.

Parental Control Features:

• Create, delete, and edit sub-accounts
• Restrict play by ESRB rating
• Manually configure access to specific games
• Restrict available play time by scheduling
• Restrict play by time spent playing

Known Bugs:

• Downloading games is prohibitted outside of scheduled times in the same manner as playing a game.
• All existing sub-accounts restrict the play of M-Rated titles by default, the primary account holder must change this if needed.
• TapID and name of primary account holder is not displayed to sub-accounts. If you need the primary account holder’s information you must contact GameTap support.
• Games that experience problems ALT-Tabbing will still experience these issues when a (scheduling) warning dialog appears.

Thank you to all the folks at Gametap for working on this! I created a sub account, it was very easy and such a great tool for people who have kids in school plus keep up on how much time is spent playing Gametap.....wish they had this for World of Warcraft a couple of years ago!!
