 Re: Plugin Update Today 08.06.09
Looks like you changed the website as well. I miss my big yellow "Forum" button! Now I have to use that tiny little hyperlink in the top left. *pout*
The new "featured" icons are overlapping the genre buttons in FF, and the "Game Packs: See All" link is squished up and overlapping the green line below the genre buttons. I also have a vertical grey line running from the bottom of the action genre button down to the top of the main window. Nothing big, just looks awkward.

They just moved the button next to the "download to own" button, i.e. look slightly up. And if that doesn't work read below. Refresh the page, should fix most if not all of that.

 Re: Plugin Update Today 08.06.09
Had to fix the registry and the local.config thing again, but that was easy enough. Good to have a patch, eh? I just wish I didn't have to fix it all the time.
Also, what exactly do the "Featured" buttons do? Or is it just advertising?

Be adventurous and click them. It's GameTap so it won't bite too hard .

...but adventures are scary. =P
Looked at the links, it's a list of some Ubisoft/SEGA games and a bunch of games some guys called "Mega64" like, whoever they are. Interesting.

Since this update, I've had to hit the refresh button a lot to get everything to showup/work properly on this site.

 Re: Plugin Update Today 08.06.09
Every time there is a new game or site update, the caches take their sweet time (usually a couple hours) updating as the data is propagated across them all. Unfortunately that means refreshing a lot.

I see no button. I only see the hyperlink in the top left. Refreshing does nothing.

File a support ticket (See "Support" above then "Ask a Question")

Bah. I can't remember how exactly to change the config file so I can reference my downloaded games, and the support page is not accessible.

 Re: Plugin Update Today 08.06.09
I have my files stored on an external 120GB disk, which is mapped to drive letter G.
I installed GameTap, let it download its catalogs, then opened Task Manager, right click on GameTap process, end process.
Navigate to: C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data
Copy GameTap Web Player to external drive, rename if you like to "GameTap" so the final path would be G:/GameTap/ with appdata and games as sub-directories.
Open regedit and navigate to: HKLM -> Software -> TGN, Inc. -> GameTap Web Player
Find this key and double-click/press enter while highlighting: OSSharedData
Change from: C:/Documents and Settings/user/Application Data/GameTap Web Player/
To: G:/GameTap/
Open an explorer window and navigate to: C:\Program Files\GameTap Web Player\bin\release
Open in notepad or another text-editor: local.config
Find in document: OSSharedData
Change from: C:/Documents and Settings/user/AppData/Roaming/GameTap Web Player/
To: G:/GameTap/
Close browser, first clearing private data then re-login. Open Games tab, and refresh if necessary, it should load from the other disk.
Download a small test game, and look at G:/GameTap/games while it progresses to make sure it's actually going there.
In my case, my external disk is a bit noisy, and is on my desk, so I literally hear it when gametap loads.
Note backslashes versus forward slashes... GameTap uses forward, Windows uses backwards for file locations.

Thanks, sparcdr. Worked like a charm, and this time I copied and saved the instructions to a .txt file. heh.

Yea this update was really awesome, it took away the only cool game that I played on here and now it's gonna cost me money to play it, you guys are really awesome, thanks for your excellent service....that was sarcasm, sarcasm is when you say something but you really don't mean it, in this case I mean the exact opposite, because this website sucks

Thanks for the definition of sarcasm. Also plug-in updates don't take away games. Either you had something removed from the free list, or you had a Gold game removed because of a company having licensing problems. There's threads for each.
