Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
its fine. if the bug had not of occured then the points could of ended up different so i cant know for sure if one person would not of tried again a few more times. the points as a whole are not a big competition so a few extra points going out does not matter overall to me at least. thanks for the honesty though, it is appreciated and would be absolutely perfect in a non-bugggy situation.
while i am typin i would like to know what type of additional prizes would ya'll be interested in. anything in a reasonably low price range would be a fine suggestion. somthing along the same line as the logitech controllers and anything gaming related. i would also like to know any other types of prizes though too so just reply in thread or pm me with any ideas's and suggestions.

I know i haven't participated lately but seeing some sorta gift certificate for like 10-20 bucks that you can use in the GT store for games would be cool, or something along those lines.

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
Really? there shouldn't be a problem since there has only been 31 weekly scores posted this week so far. So it shouldn't be a problem with the bug...

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
Today's game is Zoo Keeper. Admittedly I have pretty high hopes for this one. If nobody unusual shows up (Volthug), there's a possibility I could walk away with a first place finish; finally. That monkey's not going to get away with any more of his shenanigans. I'm going to funk him up! Yup, that "Funky Monkey" better watch his back (he he he). Here's a little something to inspire a complete and total monkey funking. Peace out for now, Blue.
P.S. Pump it while you play (nah, you don't have to).http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht2xTv3qpk8#

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
Hello,
Just found this thread even though I've been playing since everything got started. =P
To catch up:
1) I love the lunchtime tournament idea, though it tends to make me take a little longer lunch and have to stay late lol. I would agree with other times for tourneys being in the evening, but not in place of this tourney.
2) Other ideas for prizes could include more game swag (like the Grimm tournament rewards), player's guides, nifty USB gadgets (like the desktop missle launcher), discounted monthly subscription or free subscriptions in smaller increments, and gaming themed gear (arcade game t-shirt, mousepad, etc)
Love the tournament, keep up the good work!

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
What can I say. I'm in total disbelief. I did have one legitimate chance at a 300,000 point monkey funk, which would have placed me in 1st with a score of 700,000 or so; but I choked it away. It's like I suddenly froze up. Pathetic! Instead I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth of what could have been; what should have been! I didn't even come close to my own personal best; which is eerily similar to fuzzybunny's (chills run down neck). Why did it happen this way? I just want one 1st place finish. Volthug respectfully bowed out of competition until the tourney was over (his scores are sick, much respect); but along hops the bunny to enter his first ever tourney, and he manages to rob my first 1st place finish. He came totally out of nowhere. How? I'm not sure why it it went down this way, but everything happens for a reason. There have been quite a few of those one time tourney appearances by other 'tappers; who steal first, and then take off into the night (so to speak). I suppose I will just have to settle for sustained excellence instead of complete dominance over one or two games. Why the long response? One word; shock. That is all I can muster up right now. I'll see you all tomorrow; to again make what is increasingly seeming like a feeble attempt at my coveted 1st place finish. Peace out, Blue.

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
Luckily for you fuzzybunny is part of team Gametap. we got 5 of the top 11 spots today:) dont worry though because all the point distribution just gets shifted down.
really happy to see the extra turnout today and all the nice scores. tell your friends and see you all tomorrow.

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
Just a thought, and please forgive me if this has been asked before (I thought I'd read it all, but who knows?), but is there any way to extend the time of the "Lunchtime" tournaments? Into possible evening hours? I'm asking because it's just a bit frustrating having 18 points when the least costly prize is 20. ARGH! Also, I hate not being able to compete after such a good start. I'm just competitive like that.

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
I would also be in favor of extending the tournament times. If I worked during the usual hours, I would also not be able to enter. I think it would be good if everyone had the full 24 hours to enter a score. That way, everyone that plays at night or early morning or whenever could play without a disadvantage.
Nice score today, IncrediBlue. Now you are ahead of me for overall points.

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
Question about the mousepad prize. Is it one of the nice thick ones with the fabric top, or a crappy thin one with a plastic top?

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
I'd love to see some "gaming" quality hardware on the menu (even though I have no current points due to working M-F 8-5).
I use the term "gaming" to describe products that usually cost a bit more than the avg, but are made of superior materials or offer superior performance. For example, I prefer a larger, rigid mousepad. Something from Razer with a metal plate for stability like their ExactMat or Destructor models.
Maybe some of those MS "Blue Track" mice when they come out soon.
Other than that, maybe a partership with some other online gaming-themed retailers like Jinx, thinkgeek.com, and others that we can purchase some gift certificates and use them there. Some people are going to have large amounts of points and if they've already paid for a year of GT they may want some other options.
BTW, thinkgeek.com has a lot of those USB toys such as the desktop foam missile launcher and other assorted stuff.

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
i would really like to get some more gaming hardware as well. the best thing to do at the moment is get as many of ya'lls friends to play as well and I will be able to get some of those types of prizes.
I am still tryin to think of a good way to reward ya'll for referring people to come play, but in the meantime do let me know if your friends are any of the new people and I will try to hook ya'll up in some way.

The best reward of all is knowing that you've helped someone find something fun to do on a dull lunchtime afternoon!

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
Hey, can someone update the "Latest Winners" list and the final results for the Defender tournament? I would hate the world to miss out on my total domination at this game. Yes, this is the 3rd time I have won a GameTap Defender tourney, so please go out and practice folks.
I guess the GT staff is just flexing their muscles this week. Isn't that two wins for us?

Re: Lunchtime Leaderboard Tournament Discussion
Sigh, the score once again didn't give me the option to post my score, could this be because I didn't break one of the preset scores in the game?
