 The Witcher
Steam just started selling The Witcher - "Enhanced Edition Director's Cut". They have a sale on it right ($27.99) now and I'm wondering what others think of this game. From what I've seen you play an avatar who is a Kung Fu master. It looks like it could be fun.

 Re: The Witcher
I just started playing The Witcher Director's Cut last week, so far it is fantastic. Great setting, solid lore and story, the voice acting is a little weak but the rest of the game more than makes up for it... at least so far.

 Re: The Witcher
I remember reading that there's bad load times at one point, does the Director's Cut fix that?
I'll probably end up getting it, since it's on sale and all.

 Re: The Witcher
I didn't notice any problem with long load times.
Heads up to GT subscribers, you might not want to buy The Witcher... ahem.

The Witcher is not the same as the Director's Cut. I have the weekend to decide. For $27.99 I'm pretty much assured I would have access to the best "The Witcher" that will be released. Still "The Witcher" is not the same as the Director's Cut. The Witcher 2 looks impressive but it doesn't look like it's going to be released for pc, well at least for awhile.

 Re: The Witcher
There's actually 3 versions, standard, enhanced edition and director's cut. The enhanced edition is greatly improved over the original, the director's cut simply adds back in some nudity that was removed in the North American release.

 Re: The Witcher
I own and played the witcher..fan-freakin'-tastic action rpg. Customizable and your sword attacks are rhythm based, which makes combat fun- not complicated. None of that 'hold x + rotate 2nd stick then trigger' bs. Solid story. Buy it.
The edition on gt probably won't have you trying to find all the ladies you can sleep with/collect their nude cards. I bought an international copy off ebay when it came out. The idea of playing a censored game infuriated me. We have multiple senators/government 'role models' right now in this country in various sex scandals, but a few nude video game cards and we're Amish all of a sudden.
Could be worse. In Germany, their version had green blood. Or China, which won't allow it, yet clearly knows all about sex (highest population in the world) and violence (ask Tibet). Oh, fyi parents, it also has drug references.

Totally agree with you on that dude. I for one refuse to play a censored game. Same reason I won't watch a movie on broadcast TV. I view games and movies as works of art (after a fashion) and as such, I want to enjoy them the way the designers/directors meant them to be enjoyed, not the way some anal-retentive censor says I have to!

 Re: The Witcher
I really don't think the censorship is that big of a deal. Sure i would rather play the version with the most content, but the content that was cut out isn't something i would really spend any time on.

If you own the Witcher on Steam you can upgrade to the Director's Cut for free.

 Re: The Witcher
The performance problems were fixed with the "Enhanced Edition" released last year. The "Director's Cut" uncensored the US versions, though frankly you really aren't missing much.
