My game changed subscription level, I can no longer play!
To Whom It May Concern:
I don't know if this is logistically possible, but it would be great if, after downloading a game, I don't return to play again, only to find out that I now must have a different subscription. About a week ago, I download Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition, and had a great time playing it. But when I went to play the game today, I discovered that I now have to have a Premium Subscription. I only have the "free" package, so I of course understand that the best games require a paid subscription. But would it be possible for those who download a game BEFORE it changes to a different subscription level, to be able to at least finish playing the game AFTER/even if it changes subscription? It's disappointing that this has happened several times. As a "free" user, I fear this may come across as a complaint, which is certainly not my intent. I have found Gametap administrators and other posters to be very helpful, and I have been and surely will continue to enjoy Gametap!
Respectfully,
Kepler

Re: My game changed subscription level, I can no longer play!
Hi Kepler,
The "free" package is merely meant as a sampler pack for the subscription service, which is why games are rotated out at varying frequencies. While it may be tough if you can't complete a game in the free period, subscriptions for the service are fairly cheap, and all your save data is retained so that if you do subscribe, you can pick up right where you left off.
In short, while it's great that you enjoy the free package, ultimately you get what you pay for and Gametap as a business needs revenue in order to function. Sorry!

Fair enough, I can certainly understand that. Business is business. Nice to know the game data is saved so that when I make room in my budget for Gametap, I can start where I left off. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

In this instance : To get or try to get something free of charge; sponge: lived by mooching off friends. Basically it is someone who expects others to pay for his/her way in life. Zo

Uh-oh, I was afraid of this happening. I didn’t want to instigate any flaming. I did not mean to be a "whining mooch"! My apologies if I came across as such.

Hey guys, play nice. Kepler has been very polite, and I can certainly understand not being able to afford entertainment purchases sometimes. Let's bring down the name-calling and personal attacks.

I didn't see anyone calling anyone else names. I did see a mention that there was going to be some flaming but due to his politeness the flame was stopped. I was just answering his question and apologize if it came across as a flame. I don't consider him a mooch at all and was not trying to imply that he was. Zo

imo there is a pretty fine like between saying "i was going to call you a bunch of names" and "i am going to call you a bunch of names"
but yeah. totally nice to see someone being polite for a change.
