Trying to get a mod to work in Civ 4, need help.
I'm trying to get the Fall from Heaven II: Before the Fall mod to work. I have it in the beyond the sword mods folder, but it seems to crash whenever I try loading it. Any tips?

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure that mods don't currently work for any GT games although they are working on an app for that.
Edit = Just realized that since you mentioned a folder you must have bought the game. *facepalm* Must... remember... not... to... reply... so... late... at... night!
p.s. Pretty basic, but you are patched up to the latest version right? Making sure your graphics driver is fully updated would also be a good idea.

No, it's the subscription version, but I've gotten other mods to work for Civ IV before. For instance, the first Fall from Heaven mod works fine (albeit, that one is for standard Civ IV, not BtS). But regardless, yes, I've got version 3.1.9.0 of Civ IV, and all my drivers are up to date.

Re: Trying to get a mod to work in Civ 4, need help.
Mods for Civ4 are held external to the game (i.e. in an unencrypted folder) so in general they should work.
I have no experience with this mod however, it it is bugged (or tries to screw with Civ4 in ways the API didn't expect) it may crash. GT's encryption makes games slighly less tolerable to coding errors.

FFH II Requires BTS version 3.9 Gametap's version of the game is 3.7 this is why Fall From Heaven 2 doesn't work. It's been mentioned before.. specificalyl in terms of that mod.

I was looking foward to BTS mostly for this mod, and was sad when it didn't work. After some trying, I found a partial solution. The old FFH2 version for vanilla Civ 4 works if you: 1) Put it in the My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Gold/MODS directory. 2) Play Civ 4 without expansion packs 3) Advanced > Load a mod > Fall From Heaven 2 023

You can update it, which I did. I'm running 3.9 through GameTap.

The 3.19... Ok, how did you manage to install it? I always get a "game not found" error...

Use the in-game updater, not the external patch file.
