Here might be a good place to mention that Infernal requires PhysX, but more specifically had some problems with older ATI drivers. (Acutally one set would BSOD your computer.) Make sure you're updated to the max on both of these.

I remember getting into a catch-22 on that. My old ATI driver would BSOD on Infernal, but upgrading the driver (besides that being a complete pain in the ass) would mess up the Gametap player. Didn't manage to play the game until I got my laptop. Fun-ish game, though, especially for free (pretty sure you can easily blast through it in a week, too).

 Re: Featured Free Game: Infernal
This game was just to evil for me. I couldn't stomache working for Satan even if the forces of Heaven tried to kill me.

 Re: Featured Free Game: Infernal
You don't need PhysX hardware, just install the PhysX software.

Yes I don't think anything requires the PhysX hardware specifically, just the software to run it. My comment was more related to the ATI driver issue.

 Re: Featured Free Game: Infernal
I played it, and it was ok. Although it has quite a few flaws. If you fall even a few feet, paper-legs Ryan dies instantly. Another flaw was that you couldn't jump in any direction, and would simply do a power-roll. All games with an FPS/over-the-shoulder shooter gameplay style should have a jump function. But the abilities were cool, like teleporting, charging your guns with evil energy, moving objects around, seeing with super-vision mode, etc. However, there just didn't seem to be enough abilities. It would've been great to possess people, or call in demons to help you fight, those would've been AWESOME abilities. But no, they just stuck with simple stuff. Still, the guns were cool, a respectable arsenal, especially the Angel Cannon thing from the later levels.
All in all, it's not bad, but there's plenty of things it should've had. Sadly, it wasn't too well received compared to other games, so I don't think the developers would bother making a sequel. All the franchise got was a port to the 360, and that was it. Could've had potential for total epicness, but it's flaws got in the way of success.

Yeah it would have. And if it had more gameplay options. Like a survival mode would be pretty nice. Online would be awesome but I dunno how it would work.
