Post Copying a Downloaded Game to another Computer
How can I copy a downloaded game from one computer to another in the house, so that I don't have to download again? For that matter, can a game downloaded in one Windows User Profile, be used in another without downloading again?

Thanks,

Oh, and I also meant to ask if a Sub-Account has to download the same again, or not?

No, sub accounts should be ok, as well as other windows accounts. GT pulls this date (or at least it used to) from the "All users folder"

You could go digging through app settings to move a game to a new computer, but I've had mixed results for this. The settings for the games are stored in with the games (in the encrypted files) so if you get a game that's a bit..shall we say high maintance...those migrated settings may cause issues.

This article (for changing storage locations) will tell you common directories:

Of course moving a "specific" game is a bit of a PITA as well because games are saved with a GT # rather than buy name, so you're left opening info files and guessing based on size. (So it may be easier to move the entire folder in some cases.)

I've tried this before and also had mixed results. Often I find the game will decide to totally empty the dir you just moved and start downloading again.

I recently copied Titan Quest to my kids PC's. One of them went over first time, the other one I gave up on after the third time it removed the 4.5Gb and started to download again.

Go figure.

Starts downloading again stop the download but leave it on. Copy the game over then start download. Then it will move.
