No announcement for Prey, no new and upcoming games posts since 8/21, what's up with the information shortage?

There was a Prey preview with a release date on the blog, but, yeah, that's not what the sticky over the Games forum leads to.

Was just here to make a thread about this myself. It's no big deal but I'd appreciate if I knew what was coming up in the weeks. All games on the list that were to be released already have been, with games like Prey that were still in Encoding now released.

Yummy is the new encryption scheme GT is switching to that will be 64-bit compatible. It will also allow you to mod games. Or so I've heard. :)

So games like Railroad Tycoon 3 and such that previously would not work because of my machine will work now?

Epic.

God speed Yummy! God speed!

This of Course depends. If the game is generally incompatable (see myriad of Vista Errors) Yummy may not fix that. If it's 64 bit related only Yummy Will fix that. If it's some where in between (See some of the errors where the encryption just seemed less forgiving to bad programming than a normal install) we don't know yet.

Question: Once yummy is up and running, how is it going to affect those of us still using 32-bit OSs?

I don't have the funds to upgrade my OS right now and I SURE don't have the ducats for a new PC!

You get modding, other than that everything should just be behind the scenes (i.e. it's not going to make GT 64 bit only)

And again, even once Yummy comes out, games will not be 64-bit, moddable, or anything else unless we release a Yummy version of that game. Converting the back catalog will take a while.

Sorry about the lack of updates, everything is a bit up in the air at the moment and I've had less time to post in the forum. Once we get Yummy rolling, crossing my fingers for next week, we'll have a dependable releases schedule again.
