Having serious problems installing the Player. I can't find a link to get to the download screen, but sometimes it automatically goes into the screen the says the Gametap Plugin needs updating or something to that effect. I've gotten there about six times, only once the bar went up to 100% and I hit Continue. But in the next page it gave me error 4500 and just went to my profile screen and I don't know how to bring it back up. It comes up by itself sometimes but gives me error 4500 again. Any help is appreciated.

Try right-clicking your browser .exe and click run as admin. I've seen this fix installation problems before.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but what is the browser .exe? Also I forgot to mention at the page with the percent bar that says it needs updating, there are instructions at the top that say click the yellow bar, click on ActiveX, etc. but I don't get a yellow bar or any pop-ups at that page and it just freezes at 0%.

The browser's .exe is the application file for your Internet Explorer. Usually its somewhere like c:\program files\Internet Explorer.exe

Running as administrator didn't help for me. The Gametap browser plugin is seriously the most bug-ridden application I have ever paid for in my life. The old browser was much better.

Nope, running it as admin didn't help. I still got error 4050 (I put 4500 in my OP, I think that was a typo). I'm starting to get frustrated... I had little to no problems at all with this site when I used it last year but it seems like since then they've made a new setup which just seems to cause problems for everyone. I'm starting to think the player is just virtually undownloadable and I wasted my money on a subscription I can't use... hopefully that won't be the case.

Try adding *.gametap.com to your trusted site list if you haven't already seen that solution in another post. This is an install bug that we have fixed for our next major release.

For IE, you should be able to fix this by going to the Security tab from your Internet Options menu. You can select trusted sites, then add *.gametap.com to the list. You will also need to uncheck the HTTPS checkbox at the bottom of the window.

Restart your browser and hopefully that will help you get installed and playing.

Your machine is just starting GameTap really slow for some reason. There are some network timeouts, as if your network is having transient problems or your firewall is interfering.

If you refresh the web page about 30 seconds after the 4050 error, it will probably be fine. Given the network errors, you may have more problems though unless you can figure out the cause.

I got it to update on Firefox, so it's probably a problem with IE, go figs.
