Links to the current versions of DirectX and Agea PhysX are at the top of this post. I am assuming that by "driver engine" you are referring to one or both of those? If you post your logs (directions on tech support forum page) I will be glad to take a look at them as that is always the fastest way to get help.

From a GameTap player point of view, everything looks like it launched fine based on your logs. Sounds like Trine just crashed on you and you got an option to attach the debugger since you have studio installed. Looks like you have latest DirectX based on your logs. Are you sure you have latest Agea PhysX? Link is on the top of this post if you have any questions about that.

Yes, I just recently installed the recent physX from this forum actually. I see that it's crashing, unrelated to the debugger on my machine. any ideas?

Do you ever see the Trine launcher or does it pretty much crash immediately? Do you have any 3rd party anti-virus or firewall software installed? If so, I would try disabling it and see if that changes the behavior. We also just determined today that if you have directly or indirectly caused the Windows Firewall service to stop, it can prevent you from successfully starting PC games on some platforms. That would be something good to check with msconfig if you have a question about it.

1. Firefox 3.5.3 2. Windows 7 x64 3. Rebooting doesn't help 4. No Gametap error code. 5. Xray-707 6. Trine doesn't work 7. Burgertime works 8. N/A 9. Yes 10. The Trine settings box does appear. I select my resolution. I click the launch button. I see my mouse icon spin, and the game just disappears. I only see my desktop.
Windows firewall service is running, and DEP and security software settings don't appear to make a difference. CPU is showing as 00 for trine launcher.

 Re: Problem Launching Trine?
If you get the Trine launcher to appear, that rules out most of the player config / security / firewall issues.
I can see from your logs that you have the correct DirectX version. This sounds like the experience someone has if they do not have the correct PhyX installed on their machine. It could be a video driver issue too- we have had a number of early Windows 7 users that needed to update their video drivers from the vendor.

 Re: Problem Launching Trine?
I don't have any immediate suggestions for you. Sounds like you have run through all of the known issues.
We are going to release another 64 bit PC game tomorrow. Try that one and see if it works. If it does, we will at least know that the issue is probably related strictly to Trine. If you have problems with the new title also, lets talk about some next steps to get more data about your system. If you can get a system dump using ProcessMonitor and upload it to our FTP site, I will be glad to take a look at it.

 Re: Problem Launching Trine?
I managed to get Trine working. I downloaded Trine demo from the official game developer's website. I forced the demo to install direct x, physx, and the WMC codec (which I'm pretty sure I was missing, and that was probably the problem). The Trine demo download is located at http://trine-thegame.com/site/ Then I ran Trine demo. That worked. Then I tried Trine in Gametap. That worked. Then I uninstalled Trine Demo. Then I tested Trine again in Gametap, and Trine still works. I have a feeling that I didn't have the codec installed.

 Re: Problem Launching Trine?
Okay, game has downloaded (thanks) now it won't run. I did that thing where I downloaded the demo from the official site and installed everything from there, but nothing. The cursor has the "wait" symbol for a second then "teleports(?)" to the top-left corner of my screen and no game (can't even run the demo). suggestions? Log code: Khaki-330

Well, if you can't get the demo to run, that's not a Gametap issue. It's an issue between your computer's config (drivers, hardware, etc.) and the game itself. If the demo won't run, then Gametap's version isn't going to run either. I'd recommend posting in Frozenbyte's forum to see if you get any help: http://frozenbyte.com/board/viewforum.php?f=15System Requirements o OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 o Processor: 2.0 GHz CPU (Dual-core recommended) o Memory: 512 MB (XP), 1 GB (Vista) o Graphics: Radeon X800 or GeForce 6800 or better o DirectX®: 9.0c

Ageia hasn't owned PhysX for what, a year or two now? It's nVidia (to the detriment of every PC video gamer)

 Re: Problem Launching Trine?
I can't get Trine or Trackmania Unlimited to work. With Trine I get the launcher, then no matter what settings I pick it crashes. I have the latest nVidia driver and Physx software and the WMV codec from Frozenbyte. The Trine demo runs fine. Trackmania just pops up a window "Nadeo Launcher has stopped responding." With either I have to end-task on the Gametap player and restart my browser to play anything else or try to launch one of those again. Vista Ultimate x64. Windows problem reports look pretty generic:

I uninstalled and reinstalled both drivers, that seemed to work, not sure why though. Might help out someone else who's having problems still.

 Re: Problem Launching Trine?
My copy of Trine on Windows 7 32-bit is missing the localization strings in the launcher and has an obscured error message in full screen which can't be read because the text is offset to the left of the screen. After reinstall of PhysX the game will simply crash on launch. On Windows 7 64-bit the strings are there and the game launches correctly.
My 32-bit system is a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7700, 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT, and my 64-bit system is a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400, 8GB PC2-5300 DDR2, 512MB XFX GeForce 9800 GT.

 Re: Problem Launching Trine?
i also have the same problems with trine and all the other 64 bit games. they played like a skipping dvd when i did manage to get in. i went and bought an nvidia 8400gs 512 mb i have dx11 all nvidia updates are current. only now for some reason all i can get anymore is 4109 and i dont have any drives mapped. more so this new problem has spread to all games not just the 64 bit games. open to any ideas but i have tried every thing on the support page. i even put in a request for service, but im still paying without playing.

 Re: Problem Launching Trine?
Trine now works on my systems. Have to go through the following:
DirectX Runtime (Web Redistribtable) Visual C++ Runtime 2005 SP1 (Redistributable) English Localization of Windows (English set system-wide) with all compatibility/update (Non-security) installed (SP2 if Vista) Latest NVIDIA Drivers (Or Beta) PhysX Standalone If using virtual drive emulators like Alcohol, update STPD

Actually, nVidia failed to bundle the software side of PhysX with the drivers or even with the Control Center software package.
