Do cheat codes work on PC games here?
I just want to know if cheat codes work on PC games here. I know one of the codes that I use on The Legacy of Kain: Blood Omens 2 worked. Will cheat codes for other PC games work as well?

Re: Do cheat codes work on PC games here?
I hate to admit it but, I had to use a cheat code to pass one horridly difficult mission in Comanche 4. Ain't proud of it but, at least I can say I beat the game. Also, if you play (or are planning to play) Tachyon: The Fringe, you absolutely have to use cheats at least once. Bruce Campbell (who voices you're character in game) actually berates you for using codes and some of his comments are freakin priceless. But yeah, cheats work.

Except for Dues Ex: GOTY Edition, you gotta find a user.ini ..but I can't seem to find to use the cheats. Dang thing.

The .ini files are encryped. Future encryption schemes will fix this. However some of the ini files have already been edited for you. Try the cheats and see if they work (I know the hitman games came with pre-edited ini files.

I'm trying to use the cheats for Fry Cry and they aren't working. The one where you hit the '~' key to bring down the console and then, put in the codes but they don't work.

Games that require you to edit the .ini file or something won't work. All other cheats should work.

The website i found for Blood Money cheats said that you bring up the cheat menu by pressing C after editing the files--is it changed to another key on the keyboard or is that the exception of the editing? and the far cry cheats he is talking about, to the best of my knowledge, do not require editing, however, the level skip ones work for me and the god mode/weapon cheats do not. Odd.

Re: Do cheat codes work on PC games here?
Bloodmoney now uses the fancy new encryption scheme! You'll need to delete and redownload it. (Provided you didn't download it in the past week).
But then you can edit your heart out!*
*Note this is not supported by GT, Your mileage may vary! You make break the game (and have to redownload it again!) Also you'll have to find the game in teh GT folders.

I believe all the new games' folders (64-bit compatible) begin with 15000

Re: Do cheat codes work on PC games here?
You can remove the games from the "My Games" section, just click the trash can next to the game name. Also be warned you might loose your save games.

I did a search to my C: drive with 15000, my results were UTengine SOLVSAMP.XLS MAPSTATS.XLS non of those were folders, they were just some random stuffs I can't find the hitman file anywhere on my computer...its getting kinda annoying. I don't mind losing my data, but i just can't find it...getting angry...

Re: Do cheat codes work on PC games here?
It's going to be in whatever folder you put your GT games (typically C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GameTap Web Player\Games) However, you'll have to pop into each folder to find the specifically. FWIW the UT2k4 folder is: 150007850
Also note that IIRC Applicaiton Data is a hidden folder by default (which may be why searching didn't find it.)
The Good news is, inside of the numbers folders are folders that closely resemble the game name! In 150007850 there was a folder called UT2004. In another folder (whose number I can't remember) there was a folder called "hitmancontracts" I can't figure out the exact naming structure yet (as for longer games like Unreal they used abbrviatitions) but it should be as simple as going to that folder and quickly opening folders till you find the one you want.

Re: Do cheat codes work on PC games here?
Thank you for the hint about hidden folders. The Hitman Blood Money folder name was 150000550. Lets see if i can get some of these mods to work.
