I'm gamegeek. Love gametap, been using it for a month or 2 now, love shooters, stealth, RPGs, and RTS's. Family account (beh) so i'm stuck with this "compumom" username. I'm the only one who'll ever go onto the forums though, so trust you're talking to me . Hope to meet/frag some new people.

I always thought it was a bit weird that someone named compumom was playing Hitman games, but I wasn't going to ask.

I fully thought you were a lady You should tell your mom to make you a subaccount so you can have your own name.

Hi, my name is Funkymonkey4710 (Dylan) and I previously used Gametap when it first came out, maybe even while it was in some of it's beta stages years ago. I live in Nebraska and love to play ORG's (Online Reality Games). As for video games they love to fill up my freetime and the rest is fill up with Art, Writing, and College!

Re: Welcome To The GameTap Forums, Introduce Yourself
I just joined Gametap a few weeks ago. I'm a freelance programmer. I mostly play strategy games and RPGs, though I'll stray into the FPS, arcade, and adventure games if I'm in the right mood. I also have a soft-spot for interactive fiction.
I like thoughtful discussion, I speak my mind, and sometimes I forget that other people can interpret "I believe I'm right (and therefore that you are wrong)." to be equal to "I believe you're a moron".
What else to say? Ah.
Most important of all: I'm fond of cherry cordials.

I probably would, however I'd be afraid that she'd get creative with it, start restricting game access and such whenever she was being moody. And yeah, I guess that would be a little bit weird, lol.

Re: Welcome To The GameTap Forums, Introduce Yourself
Wow, after all this time I have never done this thread, I'm such a lazy bum. Anyways, anything you need to know is on my profile info. I've been around for about 2 years and 3 different accounts. (I'm horrible at remembering all my Usernames ). I am now designing a GameTap reviewing wikia that will help to give people an idea of which games are good and which are not so good.

Re: Welcome To The GameTap Forums, Introduce Yourself
Don't know why it's taken me so long to do this either. Anyway, I'm Rayven998 and I've been lurking around in these forums for as long as I've been a member (about a year and a half now). I work as an EMT in a fairly rural part of Maine (late shift which is why I'm usualy on so late at night). Unfortunately, there aren't enough of us to go around so I'n pretty much "on call" 25 hours a day, 8 days a week. If you ever see my name listed next to game as having played for 50 plus hours or more, don't believe it. This is what happens when my radio goes off and I gotta bolt out of the house leaving the game paused for hours on end (fortunately, my gf has her own comp). My gf and I are both recreational pilots so we spend most of our free time (what there is of it) in the air. This time of year, we also do quite a bit of skiing. My gaming tastes run from "hard core" flight sims (obviously) to strategy games (both real time and turn based), driving/racing games and first/third person shooters. Pretty much the only kinds of games I do NOT like are fighting games, RPGs and platformers. Oh, and I brew my own beer!

Re: Welcome To The GameTap Forums, Introduce Yourself
Hello, my name is Laura, and I am a self-employed PC technician. I am 55, happily married, and a grandmother.
I love computers and computer games. I am heavily invested in World of Warcraft, and I am also playing Dragon Age right now, but I decided to sign up when I saw Gametap had Fable, and the Zork games. What a blast from the past! I will enjoy catching up on some of the cute games I missed before, like Evil Genius.
I still have strong nostalgic feelings for games like Toonstruck, The Neverhood, and Obsidian. I enjoyed the Monkey Island games, and in fact I recently bought the newest incarnation of that series.

Be sure to check out the annual "Interactive Fiction Competition", if you aren't aware of it already. http://www.ifcomp.org/It's in its fifteenth year, and the top three or four games each year are always on an equal par with the old Infocom classics in terms of quality, IMHO.

Re: Welcome To The GameTap Forums, Introduce Yourself
I also have been on the forums for awhile but haven't bothered to post here yet. I'm 28 and love strategy games. Especially turn-based ones. I don't have much money so the only video games I play are the ones on gametap. Actually my life is pretty much work, GT and sleep. I recently signed up on backloggery because I rarely actually finish a game and hoped it would help. It's hard when a new game comes out every week! Sometimes I try to start friendly debates here although some of the topics are a little to hot button for the mods and they get locked at times. Guess I'm on to finish Dawn of War DC with the Necros now. I need to update my backloggery to reflect this!

Same here. I'm a lot older than most of the people here (46). If I were to add all the games I've beaten over the years, I'd be typing for a week!

Re: Welcome To The GameTap Forums, Introduce Yourself
Hey folks Matty here. Been on gametap on and off since about November 06. Thought I'd give the forums here a try.
I've been a gamer for since 87, when at the age of 7 I first got SMB for the NES. Been hooked ever since. These days I'm mainly into RPG, RTS (though for some reason I suck horribly at them), TBS, as well as retro gaming. (Infocom IF FTW!!)
Good to see some fellow "classic gamers" (translation: old people) like myself who remember and appreciate the 8 and 16 bit days.
Well see ya around, gotta go work on my signature and maybe get some backloggery started.
Matty
