Good morning Presidente, I'm glad to see you're looking well. It's another beautiful day in Tropico, and you've got a very busy day ahead of you. At 9, you are scheduled to visit some local banana farms, at 11, you have a meeting with the US ambassador to discuss construction of some new factories, at noon you will be giving a speech at the palace on the housing crisis, at 2, you will be leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony for that fancy new tourist hotel, at 4, you will need to be present for the execution of some dissidents, and then at 7, you have penciled in a visit to the casino; do try not to bankrupt the treasury this time. Oh, and I have the latest poll numbers for you. It's pretty close right now, will you try to improve the lives of the people, or stuff the ballot box?

Sweet. Looks like it's back to the Communist dictator style instead of the disappointing pirate style of Tropico 2. Can't wait to give it a try!

So what type of game is this? Like a Civilization: Rome type of game or an Evil Genius type?

More like CivCity Rome, minus the tech research, with more micromanagement of people and businesses and with an interesting political aspect. I love the original. Almost done downloading!

I never played the original but I loved the sequel. I'm diffanently going play this one as soon as it downloads!

It would have been nice to see some more requirements in the info section. This requires a card that supports shaders 3. I only have version 2, which means none of the buildings or people display.

first game to be download. hope it works.

Uh, this game doesn't even work for me. I have a GT 120m in my laptop. Just goes straight to, error game closed, box. BOOOO!

Submit some error logs and post your problem in the tech support forum, following the template stickied at the top of that forum.

This looks like it will be fun when all the bugs are worked out.

Well, it worked for me from day 1, but then again I do exceed the game's actual minimum requirements. The game's graphics are quite amazing - they've even got some CryEngine 1-style godrays, and the minor additions to the gameplay actually make sense (garage + cars + roads = viable long commutes).

So far as I'm aware, the game has no bugs on this end. The game does have relatively steep system requirements such as pixel shaders 3, so check to make sure your video card can support this and update all your drivers.

My computer can't run it properly but the game has inssired me to try the original Tropico out. Now I understand why so many features of Tropico seemed superlative and pointless. The game is bascially the first one with some gameplay tweaks and a pirate theme.

I can not get this game to open. I would love to play. The game will download just fine and i have a 64-bit OS system but when I go to play it nothing happen. Can anyone help?

Does your card support Pixel Shader 3? That seems to be the most common problem with people not getting the game to work.

also try launching gametap in compatibility mode XP windows. I had a similar issue and this fixed it.
