 Suggestion, might not be possible?
I know a lot of people liked the old player, myself included. There were a lot of positives about it and one that really stood out was the enormous wall of games to browse. That's what initially distinguished GT from the other guys for me. I realize the newer system is functional, but it can be tedious and no doubt bland. I'm not a programmer or w/e, but maybe it would be possible to set up a similar game browsing solution within an internet browser (ie / ff / etc..) via flash maybe? While I can't speak for the community, I think it would help bring back some of the feel of the old player, while retaining the browser plugin system. Thoughts? ps sorry if it has been brought up before

A Flash Gametap.... That actually sounds cool. But,seems impossible to code to a useable state. I'd prefer the browser,we're far enough in it,why not stay?

You're absolutely right, a Flash/AIR interface is exactly what GT needs! If they hadn't built a web based UI I might say there are some technical issues that would need to be thought through. Seeing as they already did it, I can tell you a Flash based UI is completely feasible from a technical standpoint, and they should explore it.

It matters enough to have mountains of threads devoted to the topic. We are here for games, but we spend a lot of time looking for those gems, and expect a solid experience behind it.

Being far enough in the wrong direction is actually further away from the goal. Browser technology is not the right way to go for GT, and it was a bad decision on their part. Flash is designed for better usability control, and is all about delivering rich and engaging experiences to users. Flash is definitely the way to go and would sharpen up GT in ways the browser can't. It would offer true cross-browser compatibility, and AIR would allow them to deliver a desktop client for a better HTPC experience. The runtime would allow them to deliver faster visual (video/images) content with remoting, and the users wouldn't have to deal with constant page updates. There are a plethora of other benefits and it's absolutely a feasible solution.
