 Re: Angry Video Game Nerd
On their own, they are both pretty bad. When you take into context the Mario legacy though, that makes them abominations.

 Re: Angry Video Game Nerd
It's just a standard NES controller with an overlay sticker on it. You could get the stickers in old Nintendo Power issues. http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messag ... adid=24617

I only discovered him recently. I love his old stuff. The one with all the Nintendo accessories is my favorite. I was actually laughing to tears. Oh, same with Bible Games 2. Ok, and lets not leave out Rambo.

Super Mecha Death Christ is my favorite episode so far. He seems to have calmed down a bit this year though...

 Re: Angry Video Game Nerd
AVGN is going crazy, first he lauds the Swordquest series like it was epic, then he rips Ninja Gaiden? Says it's impossible to beat? I loved that game and while it was tough, I was able to beat it.
There's gotta be a ton of terrible games still out there, why is he reviewing Ninja Gaiden?

cuz like he said its impossible to beat, i think he said level 1 was the hardest level. he also said that the enemies come back to life when you kill them it like how the hell did that happen.

 Re: Angry Video Game Nerd
Yup. And without the use of the Game Genie. I never even owned a Game Genie. All the NES games I beat I did the old fashioned way - I earrrrrrned it. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFpPovznSG8 for those who don't get that reference.)

Neither have I. I wouldn't spend a dime on one of these cheat devices. Their a waste of money. A scenario: you spend 20-30 bucks (or whatever a new NES cartrige cost back in the day). You bring it home and fire up your Game Genie on it. You unlock everything, make yourself invincible, make the game super easy, whatever. What you've just done is flush your 20-30 bucks right down the crapper! I mean, what's the point of playing that game now? Rubbish.

 Re: Angry Video Game Nerd
The point I was trying to make is that a difficult game is not necessarily a crappy game. And just because AVGN can't beat it doesn't mean it's impossible to beat. AVGN is famous for ripping apart terrible games. Ninja Gaiden was far from terrible. He needs to get back to the dregs of gaming. I'll admit I cussed like AVGN while I was playing (and beating) Ninja Gaiden, but it was still a great game and fun to play.

 Re: Angry Video Game Nerd
The AVGN said he returns in May. I wish he would do a segment on bad racing games. He does not do racers very often.
My suggestion is to do Days of Thunder for the NES.

 Re: Angry Video Game Nerd
I love his review of Transformers the game and Super Pitfall. Two of his best classics.
Sometimes I wish he would redo his Dr. Jekyll review and update it a bit.

I think your getting a little fan boyish here. AVGN even said he loved the game but its only flaw is that it was incredibly hard (too paraphrase). I looked it up on Until We Win hoping to see how to beat the final bosses but alas it was in vain. Seems even Lordkat couldn't take the challenge. Also picking on Atari games is like beating up kindergarteners. It's really easy and just feels wrong. I admit the Swordquest review was a great departure from his normal reviews but it was a great story and I'm glad he told it! Oh and ya'll have got to see his review of the notorious Plumber's Don't Wear Ties! I was actually in pain from trying to hold in my laughter so I wouldn't wake my roommate!

 Re: Angry Video Game Nerd
i also love when avgn reviewed the nintendo power ohh the memories came flooding back to me man i just couldn't believe that the nintendo 64 used to be called the ultra 64 wonder why they change it to nintendo 64 instead of keeping the name ultra 64, and i thought the super mario brother movie was ok although i did agree with him that the koopas didn't look like koopa's at all what were they thinking was that director on drugs or something. i'm guessing those directors didn't watch the mario show so they didn't know what they were doing when they made the movie. kind of made you wish they remade the movie only this time they do it right.

i'll check that one out tomorrow, i always check to see if he has a new video that he's gonna rip apart best one i think is zelda for cdi (can't believe those directors screwed those games up the 3rd one i thought should have been for ps2 since ps2 games run smothly its almost like your watching a movie too and the loading times aren't that bad on ps2 where on cdi loading times take forever almost.
