Most games are problematic in Gametap
Why is it that most games I have tried to play have issues in Windows 7? Can anyone tell me why Gametap says they fully support Windows 7 and yet 90 percent of the games don't work at all without issues?

Gotta know what's what in the software world. You paid money for an OS that is a dud until it's regulated to be compatable with most software which will be years from now. I pity those who don't use XP, like chickens running around with their heads cut off wondering what went wrong but they can't with said heads being on the ground...

It says windows 7 is now supported, and going back, I have found that all the games that have now worked because of windows 7 now work.
It might be something else.

No, it is not your imagination. Many games on GameTap cannot even be downloaded by anyone. I'm not saying that is what is happening here, but it is one of several very large problems with GameTap. You may find this thread interesting: viewtopic.php?t=38027

FUD, complete and utter FUD. Windows 7 is a great plaform, and other services support it quite well.

This is a gross generalization, which means sir you speak only for yourself. In this household, which consists of 4 computers, we have had absolutely no problems downloading the games and running them. And on my office computer (which makes that a fifth machine) I've never had any problems either. 3 of these computers are running 32bit Windows 7 and my two computers are Windows 7 64bit. The only game I can't run on my 64 bit system is Dawn of War Gold, and that's not a GameTap issue, it's an issue with the game itself and the fact that THQ has no plans to issue a patch. A search of other gaming forums will show that to be the case. On the Win7 32bit system DOW runs great.

I see no reason for you to assume that. http://www.gametap.com/forum/list-of-gametap-games-known-to-be-corrupted-w-4100-errors-t38027.htmlIf some of those games are downloading properly for you, that is important information. However, GameTap has finally acknowledged that what I describe is accurate. You paid for Windows 7 three times over? What a sucker.

No offence SwiftHawk, but this thread has nothing to do with the 4100 error. Unless my appraisal of the thread is off, this is a Windows 7 thread, and the 4100 is a multiplatform issue.
Anyway, I've gotten all of the games I've tried so far to work in 7, with a little OS tweaking. erniemink, are you getting the issue where the games simply don't even start to load, GT just does the green circles then goes back and does nothing?

Re: Most games are problematic in Gametap
I actually have Windows 7 64 bit and have ran into problem downloading and playing only 1 game in the 64 bit library so far and that is Damnation. I dont remember all the details to what I changed in my settings initially when I unboxed my new PC but so far I do not see any real trouble with downloads other then the game stated above, as well as new games on day one of release when it redirects you to your account page.

Re: Most games are problematic in Gametap
Damnation actually did give me problems at first and I'm running Win 7. It's hit or miss.
