Yes this is definitely an issue. Wish I had paid full price for my steam game. I'd have been well into it by now.

Last time I buy from here.

Been waiting over 9 hours myself.. purchased just before midday Sydney (Australia) time and it's nearly 10pm now and no sign of the serial number.

Luckily a few people I know have purchased games through gametap or I'd be worried I'd been ripped off by now - especially as my purchase says it'll be validated within 8 hours.

Hey guys,

We are very sorry but due to the increasing phenomenon of internet fraud we have been forced to put in place additional control and risk assessment procedures for every purchase made on our site.

As I'm sure you're fully aware this is a highly popular game so we have many more checks and risk assessments to go through. (We have a lot of real fraudsters going for this game). Which is why there is a longer delay for your keys.

Unfortunately, payment service providers are unable to protect merchants against the use of stolen credit cards details, which results in a high number of chargebacks and increasing financial losses for our company.

For obvious reasons we understand your complaint and we admit this solution is far from ideal, but for the time being we have no other practical alternative, although we are constantly looking for better solutions.

Thank you for your understanding and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Internet fraud? You're talking about GameTrap, right? ...because none of the other online retailers make me sit and wait for hours after they quietly take my card information.

...as opposed to the fake fraudsters like myself who are wishing they had driven over to Best Buy right now?

Guess what else results in a high number of chargebacks and increasing financial losses for your company?

Fortunately, we, the Buyer, do, and it's called: "The Retail Store". It isn't perfect, but at least it gives us a product instead of a noreply email.

I think I understand perfectly, and I will be much more willing to accept a refund than an apology; although, at this point, I will take what I can get.

Oh, and by the way, if this is just a problem with this game, then why am I finding complaints about this from 2010?
