Aquaria launches tomorrow
So, is launching tomorrow. Anyone planning on picking it up? If you've not heard of it before, it's the indie game that won top honors at the 2007 Independent Games Festival earlier this year. There's some videos on the site, as well as on the developer's blog that show off the gameplay. Looks like it'll be a blast to play, and it kinda reminds me of a cross between Ecco the Dolphin and Symphony of the Night. Definitely something worth looking into, especially if you like to support the developers of independent games.

Just wanted to bump this once since the game is now released, and you can now . If you're a fan of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, I think you'll especially enjoy this one. In particular, the boss fights were very well done and fairly clever.

Re: Aquaria launches tomorrow
I can't manage to beat the demo. I guess my exploration skills suck, or I just don't know what to do. I got the power to move rocks, and now I'm stuck. How do I get the ability to shoot, etc? So weird...
Also, I really want to buy it, but I think $30 is too much. Sigh, wish I had a spare $30.
Should be on GameTap.

Re: Aquaria launches tomorrow
I think the Temple of Energy is off to the west of where Naija's home is. You'll fight a little miniboss in there that will give you your energy form and the ability to shoot. Then there's a few little puzzles to navigate your way further down to where the actual boss of the energy temple is. (That boss fight is what convinced me that I've got to buy this game eventually.) After that, you can either fight a giant mollusk for a pet (still don't know what the pet does), and then head east to the Open Waters area and the end of the demo.
30 bucks does seem a bit steep, but it seems like an incredible game, and I've definitely spent more than that on worse games before. I guess it's always a possibility for it to end up here on GameTap, in which case, I'd be thrilled. :)

I downloaded the demo last night and played for a little while. So far an interesting concept and nicely done game. Though the price tag is a little steep, it's nice to see such a quality independent effort.

If it is like Castlevania Symphony of the night then I am soooo there. I'll give the demo a try and if I like it I'll get the full version.

Very impressive, 2D lives on! I was hoping for widescreen support, hopefully that won't take too long.

Gave the demo a shot, and definitely enjoyed it. $30 is a little steep, but I'll probably poke around and fit it into my game budget somehow.
