I would say there's a good chance that it's something to do with the prograssive download system. try letting it sit at the games main menu for an hour and then try

sounds like a corrupt download to me, try deleting the game (be sure not to delete the extra game data or whatever, that is your saves) then redownload it.

I had to do that with both sands of time and warrior within, very annoying. the cutscenes in both games seem quite prone to being corrupted.

as a side note, once you redownload it you might need to let it run for a while for progressive download to 'catch up' to how far you are. If it crashes as soon as you load the game, thats the problem. just minimize it (or turn of the screen) and let it run for an hour or so and it should be OK.
