Post Retiring From Gametap, Moving On...
After 5 years being subscribed to the service, I feel as though my presence here is much more of a thing of the past... You see, I had been subscribed to this service since June 11, 2006, and I used to come on here, regularly... but now, seeing as how I was right about the direction this service was taking after Metaboli took over, I'm just not surprised, at all...

I mean, the fact that the Metaboli staff are even oblivious to the reasons why people are leaving... why-i-cancelled-my-subscription-t38923.html

...the fact that there is no support for third-party browsers... support-for-google-chrome-browser-t38328.html

...the audacity of Metaboli staff in forcing users to automatically re-subscribe... i-cancelled-my-subscription-multiple-times-was-charged-any-t39058.html

...the notion of continued disappointment among many users in the lack of games, and problematic software... completely-disappointed-t38784.html

...as well as the existence of a thread where wholesale dissatisfaction with the service continues to echo, even now... i-miss-the-old-player-i-don-t-like-this-compilation-thread-t31633.html

...is proof positive enough for a veteran Gametap gamer like myself in even leaving, the first place.

I could have been a Gametap guru, helping out newbie gamers in finding their way around the service, but... with the advent of the Metaboli era, even I found myself lost in the sea of confusion and displacement of the service. My biggest dissatisfaction with the Metaboli era is the death of the Challenge Lobby, and the lack of an instant messenging service with your friends on here... now, I don't really know if they brought either of these back, since it's been a long while since I've been on here, but... I could care less, now. I need no further proof as to why I shouldn't come back, here...

...so, with this, I say to you: Farewell, Gametap... it's been fun, but I've already moved on to better gaming services than this.

RIP Turner-era Gametap, 2004-2009

P.S.: This may not be the last you'll hear from me, though... I have half a mind to make a video/flash movie about this whole thing, sometime later on, so stay tuned...

I've been here for a long time and I have noticed that GTap is not as good as it was when it was apart of Turner but I have faith that GTap will get better but I do understand limits and is my limit up soon I can't say I love GTap! I know they have been talking about a new player I haven't gotten info from them on if its a stand alone program player or another Yummy player for the browsers I do not know but I know and hope that whatever the player is it will cure the problems GTap has been plaged with and one is the Never ending Green Dot Circle! I do know that a lot are worried on the Games we get they aren't the newest and they are not as known as most though I was happy to know they got Two Worlds 2 two months after it was released which was awesome at the time but I beat the game and now I sit here hoping to see a nice new FPS game or strat game like Civ 5 maybe or whatnot!!

All excellent points, I spoke earlier about "Consumer Morals"

If Consumers continue to support a clearly broken, fraudulent system then that is what they will continue to get. The GameTap fanboi's have to swallow their pride and start siding with the new users who make complaints about the broken metaboli system, I mean just look at the "Help and Support" section, it is the most used board on the entire forum.

I have been here for a long time and I get what i get in service sure I have come across some hitches who hasn't lol fanboy lol maybe I don't care, faith is what I have in this service I am sorry your having problems if you have patience and pm the meta's (admins) you'll get the help! Sure they aren't as fast as most game services but they will help!!

Edit: Key Word here is "Patience" if you don't have it well you don't get anywhere! A lot of peeps down the site for not having any patience and don't wait for response its frustrating to see it!!
