Retiring From Gametap, Moving On...
After 5 years being subscribed to the service, I feel as though my presence here is much more of a thing of the past... You see, I had been subscribed to this service since June 11, 2006, and I used to come on here, regularly... but now, seeing as how I was right about the direction this service was taking after Metaboli took over, I'm just not surprised, at all...
I mean, the fact that the Metaboli staff are even oblivious to the reasons why people are leaving...
why-i-cancelled-my-subscription-t38923.html...the fact that there is no support for third-party browsers...
support-for-google-chrome-browser-t38328.html...the audacity of Metaboli staff in forcing users to automatically re-subscribe...
i-cancelled-my-subscription-multiple-times-was-charged-any-t39058.html...the notion of continued disappointment among many users in the lack of games, and problematic software...
completely-disappointed-t38784.html...as well as the existence of a thread where wholesale dissatisfaction with the service continues to echo, even now...
i-miss-the-old-player-i-don-t-like-this-compilation-thread-t31633.html...is proof positive enough for a veteran Gametap gamer like myself in even leaving, the first place.
I could have been a Gametap guru, helping out newbie gamers in finding their way around the service, but... with the advent of the Metaboli era, even I found myself lost in the sea of confusion and displacement of the service. My biggest dissatisfaction with the Metaboli era is the death of the Challenge Lobby, and the lack of an instant messenging service with your friends on here... now, I don't really know if they brought either of these back, since it's been a long while since I've been on here, but... I could care less, now. I need no further proof as to why I shouldn't come back, here...
...so, with this, I say to you: Farewell, Gametap... it's been fun, but I've already moved on to better gaming services than this.
RIP Turner-era Gametap, 2004-2009
P.S.: This may not be the last you'll hear from me, though... I have half a mind to make a video/flash movie about this whole thing, sometime later on, so stay tuned...
