 Sega and Capcom
UPDATE:
As of right now, the situation has changed, and these games will not be removed on Monday. At the moment, consider this a temporary reprieve, but I'll let you know if the situation changes again.

We are working to correct this situation, but in the meantime, now is the time to play these games before they are gone. | | |

 Re: Sega and Capcom
The loss of games doesn't bother me too much, but it makes me worry about the future, i.e. is there less of a chance of getting games like AvP eventually?

 Re: Sega and Capcom
I guess I'm gonna have to hunt down the Capcom Classics collection off Ebay and get Kid Chameleon on the Virtual Console. This stinks I just discovered the greatness of Rolling Thunder 3

 Re: Sega and Capcom
I usually chime in like most people, when something they hate happens. In gametap's defense, the games they have been adding weekly have all mostly been excellent additions. I am enjoying the settlers immensely. It actually pulled me away from Star Trek Online briefly.

 Re: Sega and Capcom
{sarcasm}and i'm sooo sure Gametap will work hard to get them back just like they did with Midway games.ohh wait we still don't have them back if there aren't more classic games by the time my subscription runs out it's gonna by real hard for me to decide to re-up again. You have one year Gametap, impress me again.

Also asking this question. Is the entire Genesis catalog going, or just those (like the Sonic games) made by Sega?

I had to check on this, and it looks like it will include all games on Sega platforms as well.

 Re: Sega and Capcom
An actual list would be great, as with most of these things its not just games they made but games they now have rights over. And the BS line about doing all we can to correct has gotten old. like previously mentioned Midway games, Sierra games, Myst games and others never returned or even updated status, just say the games are gone. On a personal note my account is coming up for its annual renewal in a month or so. I stuck with gametap through the whole web player fiasco. I waited out the supposed improvement Yummy would make to the new game process, yet games still take forever and great games take months. We cant even get updates as to the progress of new releases. It really feels that GT is just sitting back and enjoying the profits. The web player still does not work properly often starting it up is a act of patience. this regular error when starting could very easily be a ploy to get everyone to view more ads. Speaking of which paying members should not be bombarded with endless advertising some of which is difficult to discern from GT subscription, GT downloads, or games services sold outside of GT. The last being a shameful way to treat your paying members.
sorry for the rant, and thanks to those that actually read the whole thing. I don't expect GT to change.

 Re: Sega and Capcom
FWIW, I have no inside knowledge of this, but it's probably a liscening issue. GT can do "everything possible" to get stuff back, but sometimes companies can't/don't want to negotiate, or the price is just too high. Midway for example, was crazily tied up in bankrupcy. XBLA arcade lost them as well recently: http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/21724.cfmIt appears (again, just personal opinion, I don't work for GT, I don't know about anything.) that Midway games are going to buried for a while as contracts expire. From a person who follows this in gaming and music, the liscening issues seem to be cropping up more and more and from a consumer perspective its admittedly frustrating/irritating.

My g/f and I are going to miss the co-op play of Streets of Rage (fun fun!). Anyone else have suggestion for similiar co-op offered on Gametap?

 Re: Sega and Capcom
There goes most of the classic games I play. It's great to be able to launch up a game of Sonic every now and then. How many PC games will this affect?

Typing of the Dead is the only current one I know of, although bigger question: Are Street Fighter IV and Flock still coming?

Upcoming Capcom titles are not affected, so yes, those should still be coming at some point.
