 The Death Of Gametap
After having cancelled my scrip for Gametap about a year ago in order to devote my time to World Of Warcraft, I decided 2 days ago to renew here due to what I thought were improvements made in the way of newer games, etc.
After taking my premium fee, Gametap went and showed me just how horrible things have turned here at this site. First I had to dl the plug in 3x in order for it to be recognized as working, but alas, only one game that I tried to dl would work out of 5. The others simply acted as though I had never pressed the play button at all. The one game that did finally work crashed after 5 minutes.
I sent an email to Gametap because all of a sudden, the old reliable customer service number that I used to call was gone. I recieved the standard mailer telling me that there must be something wrong with my computer even though I have a top of the line unit with 1 terrabyte of memory. This is not the Gametap of one year ago. This is the shoddiest, most inept, greed machine on the internet as far as gaming sites go, because even though I cancelled my account immediately upon seeing the devastation that has taken place at Gametap, they sure as Hades are keeping my money even though I asked for a refund for a site that has games that do not work.
Upon checking around with fellow gaming site bloggers, I found out very quickly that the consensus around the gaming community is that Gametap has already gone belly up and is gasping it's last breaths. It never has more than a few hundred people playing at any one time, and in fact, last night had exactly 200.
And so, although I did successfully cancel the premium features of my account, I'm still out the 10 bucks for the month since I can not play any of the games on Gametap, and due to the worst customer service in the industry, I'll never get to speak to a live person to complain about the ripoff that the company has just perpetrated on me.
Yes, I'm afraid everyone is right. Gametap is dead in the water, a sinking ship that the owners are throwing water into to speed up the drowning process. But that being the case, Gametap should stop taking people's hard earned money for a product they have no intention of ever delivering. Rest assured though, that interest in the gaming blogosphere has been renewed and you can most assuredly expect to see some of the most damning condemnations of Gametap ever written and posted online.

Shame to hear you don't like the new Gametap, really. But If you really want to complain about the service though, do it here where you will fit in with the rest of the people who miss the resource hogging player. i-miss-the-old-player-i-don-t-like-this-compilation-thread-t31633.html?start=875

 Re: The Death Of Gametap
You can not seriously think that this broken system of game delivery is superior in any way to the old one, which by the way, took up very little resources on my system. And actually, since this is a forum for 'anything gametap', I believe I'll do my griping right here where it belongs.
It's over for Gametap. Any fool with two blind eyes can see that just from my experience over the past couple of days.
Owing to the fact that I also write for gaming sites, I believe I'll help sink the ship along with the owners......................

Hmmm.... maybe it's the time you're online. I always see numbers closer to 600-700. I wish you and everyone else who have condemned Gametap would just go away. I'm so tired of hearing how "everyone agrees" that Gametap is awful and dying. Only the people who are having problems with Gametap agree. I think it's still the best value in gaming, it works fine for me, the reason you're seeing other gamers blog about it is because people who like to complain love to complain. Take your long rant, for example. I'm sure you'll be complaining all over your game blogs too. My point exactly. People for whom GT is working are too busy playing games to complain. (Not to mention there's nothing for them to complain about.) And how many freaking people around here subscribe THEN complain that they can't get the player to work? It's like going to a car dealership, throwing your money at the salesman and demanding a car, then driving off the lot and getting all pi**ed off because you find out you can't drive a stick shift. TEST IT OUT WITH THE FREE SERVICE FIRST. Then you can't complain that you got "ripped off" of your whopping "hard-earned" $10. Take your trolling elsewhere. Go complain on your blog. Go play WoW. Go away.

Complaints stay in the already-liked complaint thread.
Locking.
