a good free game or gold game could be the first lego island because i haven't played that in a long time

Wait, GT has to ask permission from the game publisher before they drop it from "Gold" to "Green"? I figured once GT acquired the rights to the game it was GT's prerogative as to whether they made it free- or pay-to-play.

What im seeing is a whole lot of people asking for GT's best gold games to be free...
The point of green is to make you wanna go gold, thats why they let you see all the nice juicy awesome games, but don't let you play them, and c'mon people, less than/ equal to a 360 game for a year of gametap gold.
And my suggestios for green are...

Make the first game n a series free, greens go gold for great games...

That is correct, only some of our publishing contracts allow the games to be available for free. You can get a good idea of which ones those are if you look at our entire free game catalog.

Free games are great, and when you play a particulair as one of your favorites for months, cuase it has been on the free list for months, and then find out your not going to be able to play it anymore unless you go gold, actually rather stinks. I love playing Disciples 2; Rise of the elves, and granted I take a break from it every so often, but always like going back, so my suggestion is, if you have had a free game that has been free for months, why change it. I would really hate to see that game go Gold, although not really worth gold, given the age of the game and the specs to play it, works great for labtops, but provides hours of play, and really the only reason I keep gametap anyway, and even recommend cuase of games like that. I know I am only only one person for one game, but please accept this suggestion in keeping that game free, rotating is nice and all, but that has been out free for a very a long time, and would like to see it that way.

Free games don't have specific regions, right? If so, I'd like an Incredible Machine game to be free because it's not in Canada.

Free games do have regional restriction. If GT can't liscence something in Canada they can't give it away in canada either. (Up till now most free games have been chosen to avoid this problem).

Unfortunately, that's not really how it works. If we can't put a game gold in Canada, we still couldn't put it free in Canada.

This is going to be off from what you usually get requests for, but what I would like to see is some of your educational titles on the free list. Educational titles have far less longevity for an individual player as kids tend to quickly master the subjects and move on. This makes buying full retail copies of educational titles a far lower value for your money than entertainment titles. I signed up for GameTap so that me and my family can play fun games. It was a surprise to see that we also got access to almost 100 educational titles which my son definitely gets use out of. Being that we homeschool our son, we are constantly at events where there are tons of families discussing educational options and tools. I have taken to recommending GameTap to them, as it is a good value for educational titles AND has tons of cool entertainment titles. I definitely get the vibe from many of the parents that they don't really believe that the same titles they see for sale in stores and will only be used for 6 months to a year are really the same titles that their kids can get access to on GameTap, and six months later when they have outgrown the title, they have a dozen more just waiting for them.

If some of the educational titles could cycle in and out of the free list, you might capture a whole new demographic that would normally shun a service like GameTap. It would be easier for me to show them the value of your service if I could point them to your website where they could actually download and play a real live educational title.

Im kinda the speaker of the free players even tho im gold Gametap has been going thru a great depression due to all the fighting games execpt the one everyone hates is gold. Alot of ppl been complaining that the games are getting boring becuz the most of the people in the lobbies were free players now that the games are gold the lobbies are empty 24/7 and it affected the gold players as well we cant get players to challenge to the games we really wanna play like 96 new challengers and lastblade. some ppl are even leaving and the new players have a bad impression of gametap some ppl are quiting and canceling thier memberships beucz of this great depression. if only we had the few fighting games like the ones i mentioned above we can avoid all of this crap its like hell please return those games to free

gran tursimo 2 (theres a myth that theres a very glitchy version and a version with no glitches (the first version was rush released for holiday season and for version 2 they fixed it)) i want the glitch free one because some of the game is hard to play or unplayable with the glitches and also both of the simulation AND arcade disks(it was made like that because it was so big with all of the car listing)also with access to the CLK racer (witch requires special directions and heres how enable the gameshark code for sim disk, buy it frojapam from (i think it is) east town (the Japanese automobiles) i forgot its either mitshbitishi or toyota, go to used cars, buy it for 0 credits(it can be sold for like 600000 creds),ok now turn off the GS code before going to race or the game will freeze.I dont know if you can modity it or not.)(it was deleted from the game because of license proplems but can be unlocked from the GC code.it got limited abilities because it wasnt complete when they deleted it or they deleted the info).Also, if you got a car (or cars) with a name no name in the garage,sell them because if you save,it will delete all of your cars.better less than none! (man thats alots of GT2 info)

Two games I would love to see given back that were previously free are Colin Mcrae Rally 2005, and Fallout 1.

The Free Pack doesn't have any solid Racing games at this time, and I think Colin Mcrae Rally would fit in perfectly, as it is an old game, and it was previously free. This way, the Premium players still have GRID and DIRT to enjoy, without making them feel like they are paying for something they can get for free.

The same goes for Fallout 1. This will add to the RPG list in the Free Pack, maybe bringing in more traffic since the game has become even more popular after Fallout 3 came out. As a matter of fact, I joined GameTap solely because Fallout 1 was free. Fallout 2 can still be a Premium game, so that people who pay to play the Fallout Series still can, without again, making them feel like they are paying for something they can get for free.

Does anyone agree with this?

Serious Sam: The First Encounter. It'd likely provide some incentive for people to join for the sake of being able to play the other games in the series. This is hypothetical, of course.

Right now I am disappointed with the number of Free games available. Many of them are, at least too me, not very good.Whats also weird is that games keep getting subtracted from the list. And as of this posting there are only 22 free games at that. Two of the games that have recently been removed from the free list that I want to see back are; Psychonaughts and Deus Ex Game of the Year. Both have been free games and they were the reasons I joined Game tap. Now they are back to gold. There are not enough free games available. I also agree with the sentiment that Fallout 1 should be made free as well.
