I have added gametap to trusted sites.
Gametap added to DEP.
Im running IE as administrator


Titan Quest and Rise of Nations works. I didnt have to do anything to get them to run like DEP admin or trusted site. I read trackmania works on xp. Overloard also is not working but Ill save that for another post. I can give logs for 3 pcs all same. I click play trackmania browser min. that it.

nothing yummy works. Trine trackmania whats up with that! I cant even redownload them I click download and it sits there with the loading curser!!!!!! I dont think yummy is running.

Can you look at msconfig and validate whether your Windows Firewall service is running? We determined that there is a dependency with the current Yummy binaries on an actively running instance of this service.

okay, and what about those of us who still have the "trine/trackmania making explorer.exe die/can't run trackmania at all" issue?

I too am having the same issue. I tried turning my firewall off and the same thing happened, browser minimizes then nothing. Trackmania was my 1st DL too, just joined. Oh well, no biggie. Don't even like racing games that much, it just looked kind of neat.

We are working with our encryption vendor on the issue where explorer.exe is crashing. They can recreate it, so we should have no problem solving it with them. If you would like a workaround (not a long-term solution!!) you can prevent this crash by turning off DEP for explorer.exe. I would not recommend doing this permanently though as it will create a potential security exploitation.

We are also working the Trackmania issues with them also. There is another thread with the latest status on that issue which is very obviously named in the tech support forum.

Yes Ive tried it enabled and disabled. I can do that again and post logs of both if it helps etc. I make sure it is running in msconfig.

I looked at your logs and it looks like Trackmania is starting normally then just disappearing off the radar. Can you look at your TaskManager and determine if TmForever.exe is getting started? I'm guessing that it is starting and immediately crashing, but it doesn't look like the player is getting any notification regarding the crash (certainly less than optimal).

I would try any of the following if you haven't already:
- Disable any 3rd party anti-virus or firewall software, then retry playing with a clean run (by clean i mean that GameTapPlayer.exe is started *after* your AV is disabled)
- Try a really simple game like Turtix or DNA to see if anything using the new encryption works for you

I dont have any scanner etc installed I installed xp for gametap.

Its a fresh install of xp (got rid of vista 32) only sp3 and drivers etc.
I think your right, what it does is starts and min the hd does run but it stops after few seconds.

Task manager doesnt show it running. I just tried on my girlfriend pc and same problem. I can download now in firefox etc. That pc doesnt show it running in the taskmanager. Should I post a log of that pc too?

Thinking since its all pc here could it be my router NAT? Is there a port other then 80 that it uses for gametap yummy second encryption layer?

If Turtix works, that rules out a ton of things since we know you can at least launch one of the new encryption games. You may have a problem specific to Trackmania and Trine.

Are you absolutely sure you have the latest version of PhysX software from Nvidea? There is a link to the download on another thread if you can't Google it quickly. I can see that your DirectX is up to date, so that should be fine.

Just for grins, you should try to download Trackmania Nations Forever from the Trackmania website. That's the free version of the game, and it would be interesting to see if that will work.

Physx is installed from nvidia.

I downloaded Trackmania Nations it works.



Now I ran nations gametap works. It must be file or codec missing.
Anyone who cant run trackmania in XP download nations.

The download at trackmania didnt work when we tried but softpedia does.
