FUN. So far I'm loving it. It ran super slow for me until I set the video settings way low. Crappy ol' computer.

BTW What's with the wizard at the beginning sleeping face down on the concrete with his butt in the air? LOL

P.S. There isn't a manual. But you don't really need one.

I love Trine, haven't beaten it yet but so far it really scratches that 2D style platformer itch. As for the manual, the game has an good in-game tutorial.

Gamespot has a nice video review:

I never liked platform games much but Trine is strangely addictive, There multiple ways to solve the puzzles and even the combat is pretty fun,

I tried to play this game, but the controls were terrible. That's unfortunate.

I thought they were great, but I believe it supports controllers if you don't care for the keyboard and mouse setup.

I'm pretty against platform puzzle solving things such as this. But I have to say I enjoyed Trine a whole lot.

The control wasent bad at all? You used the typical movement keys, a jump button, attack/secondary on the mouse, scrolled up for different weapon. Don't know what made it difficult for you? 10/10 for control.

The graphics (yes even a decent computer will have trouble running it fluidly (still playable if you MUST) unless they put it on low settings) are unbelievable when turned to max. The glow effects, details, and fancy coloration's are ridiculous. 10/10 for graphics.

The gameplay seemed fairly innovative. You had to use all 3 members of your party to complete the game, but at the same time each one has their own way of dealing with that situation, so it's not impossible if one or two of them die. The wizard's abillities to make boxes, bridges, and floating platforms were pretty fun. For some reason I could never get the Ice Arrow to work, and the Knight's Storm Hammer didn't seem to drain mana like it said it should. But going back to different styles of play: The rogue may shoot a fire arrow to light torches for light, and the knight might throw the random glowy balls down a tunnel for light. 8/10 for gameplay.

The sound was nothing brilliant, but it defintly did what it needed to do. The voices are a bit cheesy, but they fit the part perfectly. (who cares about rating the sound?)

The difficulty I would say (I've only played/completed the game on Easy mode so I can't say for sure) is fairly easy. There is always a convenient restart point if your entire party dies (which has only happened to me two or three times with tricky areas). The only part I had trouble with was the last stage (the first part at least). I won't give any spoilers in case people don't want to know what the last stage is like...but I will say the difficulty practically triples (at least until you get the hang of it). 6/10 for difficulty.

Time value: This is where I was severely disappointed with the game. It took me maybe 4-5 hours at most to do a full run through (there are no easter egg or collectibles to make it last longer unfortunately). 3/10 for time value.

Overall, definitely worth getting, beating it, then deleting it. Good for a weekend with nothing to do. (Don't ask why I just reviewed the game...I'm so bored).

Why do you give full points for control when you can't customize it? I do not like wasd, I am a right-handed keyboard player.

Are you a lefty on the mouse then?

It is impossible to play without the mouse because you need it to aim at targets and objects.

Be that as it may, I wouldn't call the controls TERRIBLE. Maybe a little lower for lack of customization...I never really had a problem with controls in any game I've played (regardless of console). It's all a matter of getting use to everything and adapting. The more games you play, the faster you adapt each time.

Trine is fantastic and running great for me on a P4 3.8Ghz machine.

The bets bet for controls is a 360 controller for Pc, all the controls just make sense. I've been running that and the experience is great.

It's a good game, I haven't really dived into it too much yet seeing as HoMMV is still eating up my playtime; it seems to me like Trine draws quite a bit of inspiration from The Lost Viking series, which is no bad thing.

My thought too.

Fun game, though far too short. And it needed more secret areas that required your best skills to reach. With everything you'll have like 6 boxes and 5 planks to use with the wizard along with the floating platform. Disappointed me that getting into any secret location didn't take more than 3 boxes and 2 planks.

(thief with poison and 4 arrows kinda removes most of the difficulty in the end, lol)
