 virtual dating video game really?
http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plug ... r-/1373657this just sounds disturbing that anybody would play this. telling a video game you love it 100 times is just wrong.

This sort of game is nothing new in Japan, but i don't think I've ever herd of one as... 'advanced' as this one.

Maybe the reason "games" like this are so popular in Japan is that the average Japanese male is a complete clueless moron when it comes to actual dating. So the game companies see a need to put out sims like this as sort of training tools. Either that or maybe this is a subtle attempt by the game companies to try and help curb the burgeoning overpopulation problem in Japan.

Actually, the government of Japan is trying to increase the birth rate. The population in Japan is aging, and a modern citizen needs to be competing for employment that typically involve working long hours and a high education. It's extremely competitive, and this is not a good climate for raising a family. Even families in America are choosing to have their kids at a later age-if they have any at all-and the ones that have them early may struggle with career and home life balance. As far as the topic of perversion, the Japanese are a duality of honor and highly scripted interactions mixed with the extreme after hours entertainment. On a typical train, most folks are extremely quiet and private, preferring to text on perhaps multiple cell phones. If they are reading a book, it is covered so as to maintain the privacy of their literature. But after hours, they have karaoke, a variety of drinking opportunities, underwear sold from vending machines, love hotels (edit: don't laugh, even married couples go to these because their own living accommodations are so cramped there is no privacy), and TV shows that do their best to embarrass their contestants (Wipeout! is from Japan). I have been there, and I spent a lot of time people watching and exploring, and it really is two extremes.

I saw this the other day on Majornelson.com: http://www.masswepray.com/Frankly it confuses me, as use of the term "Mass" has died out for non-catholic usage, and I can't see a catholic group. It also seems obvious that it's a joke, and yet, stranger things....

It's an advertisement for the Dante's Inferno game (click "read more" and it lets you in on the joke, as well as telling you that you are going to Hell as a heretic for being so much as tempted to celebrate mass without a validly ordained priest.) And seeing as how the Divine Comedy assumes the Catholic vision of the afterlife, it's fair to say they use the word mass for its Catholic connotation. (Disclaimer: I'm a Roman Catholic.)

LOL It didn't let you in on the joke until the preorder date hit, which was awesome.
