 Warhammer Dawn of War
Seriously? This doesn't work either? I've only been a member for less than a month and I'm already an inch away from cancelling. So far the only game I've gotten to work is NWN 2... Tech support seems non existent, its just pretty terrible overall.
Anyone got advice on getting Dawn of War to work? It acts like its going to launch but nothing comes up...it just sits there.

 Re: Warhammer Dawn of War
I'm having the same problem as you are. I downloaded Dawn of War Gold and when I click play the internet browser minimizes and it starts the gametap in processes but does not launch game. I've tried clicking play again and it says this game is already in play or something like that. I end the gametap process in task manager and tried to hit play again and still does not launch. Using 64 bit windows.

Was looking for a fix to this and I think I found it for this game. I'm referencing this thread: windows-7-issues-do-you-want-to-hear-t33411-54.htmlShould be able to get it to work if you go to your Warhammer games files and set all the exe files to run in administration mode. Here's how to do that if you don't know how. If you're using Windows 7 and chose the default folder when you installed the plugin, unfortunetely they'll be hidden (If you choose your own game directory, it does not hide them). So you'll need to go to C:\ and show hidden files. The default game directory should be C:\ProgramData\Gametap Web player\Games. You'll see a few numbers representing folders. Find the one that is the warhammer game files (eiter by he size of the folder or b y the names, and right click on the exe files and specify to run as administrator. Sorry if this seems hard, but that's the only way it may work for this game through Windows 7. Gotta love it... Hope this works for you.

 Re: Warhammer Dawn of War
I tried that, it just says Requires Yummy 4.0. I dont think Gametap allows you to run games straight from the game exe. You need to start them through the website? Anyways I run in admin mode so I shouldnt have to tell it to run as admin. I still can't get the game to launch...
Oh by the way I'm using 64 bit Vista, almost the same thing though.

Actually, ironically enough Vista and 7 have entirely different experiences on GT. Lucky for you, Vista is far better from what I gather....anyway, have you tried the DEP thing yet?

 Re: Warhammer Dawn of War
That very possibly what it is, the Data Execution Protocol is probably blocking the Yummy Broker, thanks shawnasativa! I have that same platform and I run the DEP off for the Gametap player and Yummybroker program. If that doesn't work, I can try the game myself, but wasn't sure which because there are two versions, a gold version and another version.

 Re: Warhammer Dawn of War
^^^^^^^^ Ya, I'm just throwing it out there, hopefully it's his issue. Anytime I hear Vista, I make sure they're aware of it's unique config needs. I've heard Vista is as good as XP for GT, I just suspect that you need it to be set up well first (with the exception of NWN of course, I have no idea why Cartigan has had so much difficulty with that...)

I'm assuming you're talking about the first one, DOW Gold? Are you using Windows 7?

I am having the same problem. I set all the *.exe to run as administrator, and I am running Firefox as administrator. I can get other games to run, just not DoW.

 Re: Warhammer Dawn of War
Don't feel bad guys.. I downloaded Dawn of War Gold to see if it does the same to me, and it does not run. I got the message to change my CD key, but after that, the game would not start. I tried a lot of things also, such as removing the keys from DawnofWarPlatinum_RegKey, running the GraphicsConfig.exe in the game directory and setting to safe mode, setting the W40K and W40KWA exe files to compatibility mode (run as administrator is greyed out on mine so it runs automatically). I checked DEP and also added this game's exe files. I even checked the Gametap logs, and it says the game launch ran sucessfully. I did notice there is a Universal_Launcher.exe file. When I try to run this, I get the Dawn of War Launcher to run the game. But of course you cannot run the game without the Gametap process running or you'll get that error that the apllication requires Yummy Player 4.0 to play. I think this is where the problem lies, the game is not executing the launcher for some reason. I might try uninstalling and reinstalling, but this might not help. I'll submit a ticket for mine and see if we can get some help with this. I'm assuming the expansion packs of this game, Dark Crusade and the new Soulstorm is not affected by this so I'd try that if you really want to play the game right away. Dark Crusade includes all the gameplay and has an added expansion pack, same with Soulstorm. I hope this helps you guys out, as I spent several hours with this myself. By the way, I have Vista 64 bit so if others have no issues, let us know.
Just in case, I did redownload the game, and I get the same issue, just FYI. I tried the demo of this game and that works just fine, but no surprise there. Update: Just for laughs, I tried downloading Warhammer Dawn of War Gold using my 32 bit Vista PC, and what do you know, it works... It must be something different, but not sure exactly what. Probably something simple I'm missing. If I figure it out, I'll post it.
