We Have The Best Games Ever Topic, How About The Worst?
Quite simple, list what you think is the worst video game of all time.
Mine would probably Custers Revenge for the 2600 or Superman 64.
Seriously... BAD games.

My vote for that dubious honor goes to ET for the 2600.
Worst excuse for a game ever created (I oughta know; I actually played that steaming pile)!

Re: We Have The Best Games Ever Topic, How About The Worst?
ET and Superman 64 get said a lot, but I dunno how many people actually played the latter (I think I knew one person, who supposedly claimed it was good, but what did he know) and it seems almost like the default answer.
I vote Turok Evolution, especially with the amount of hype Acclaim built up for it. People changing their names to Turok, waiting outside all night to get the game, all for a pretty awful shooter combined with really awful flight segments. I don't think it's any coincidence that Acclaim went bankrupt shortly after this and BMX XXX.

Well, it's probably true that games like TE and BMX XXX may have single handedly destroyed one company. But, let's not forget that, stock answer or not, the craptosity that was ET almost single handedly destroyed the entire first era of home gaming!
It would be many years before Nintendo and the NES could bring it back.

True enough, but I also haven't played ET.

Forget ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark was worse.

I haven't really played ET, but Raiders of the Lost Ark cant possibly be the worst game. Once i figured out that i actually had to use two controllers to play the game, it was entertaining for the little while that i played it. Sure, it can be frustrating at times, and yes, the graphics are awful. Still, its not all bad. It was a half-way decent graphical adventure game in an era were most adventure games were all text.

Transformers: The official game of the movie was the biggest disappointment I ever had. I can't beleive I paid 40$ for that incomplete piece of crap excuse for a game!

None of them as long as you play them with the right mindset (and spend $8 for a rental instead of $50+ for a buy). Of course, there's still some that go below low expectations.

I remember that I owned a copy of Back to the Future for the NES; now that was definitely the worst piece of crap it was ever my misfortune to play.

How about that putrid piece of shovelware based on the movie Independance Day. This festering abortion should be held up as a universal example of how NOT to make a flying game.

Never played it, but I'll vote for the Napoleon Dynamite game.

I think I can say with some certainty that, of all the games removed from Gametap, nobody will ever complain about the loss of that PoS.

That's it! Excluding some really bad freeware games, Metal Combat is the worst game i have ever played. Thank you LittlestCthulhu for reminding me of that one.

They even made fake reviews on diffrent sites to make it look good. You know it's bad when the creators have to lie to sell 5 copies

Re: We Have The Best Games Ever Topic, How About The Worst?
1. It's not like they had a lot of choice in systems back in 1983.
2. They did make an ET game for PS1. It sucked. Not legendarily bad, but that may make it even worse in not being notable at all.

Man, they should have made Mortal Kombat for the 2600.

Interesting you should mention Choplifter. Xicat was working on a pretty sweet looking remake called Choplifter: Crisis Shield for the PS2. They actually got to the point of sending playable code to the various gaming magazines at that time for review; most of which were generaly good. Sadly however, the game was canceled without so much as a single word of explanation. Too bad. I still find it hard to believe that, in the (going on) 10 year long life of the PS2, only 2 decent copter games ever came out for it: Thunder Strike 3: Operation Phoenix and Fireblade. Sad!

Re: We Have The Best Games Ever Topic, How About The Worst?
Ok worst game ever for me. Well I have 2, both on the Genesis. Michael Jackson's Moonwalker and Art of Fighting. Those that disagree, in Moonwalker, you play as MJ and save little kids in closets and restrooms and stuffed in pianos. Art of Fighting is a fighting game, similar to Street Fighter. Most of the moves on the 2(!) playable characters are the same as the ones on Street Fighter. Sure you save a girl who is related to you or something, but the 2 characters didn't work like it did for the very first Street Fighter
