Post Re: Welcome To The GameTap Forums, Introduce Yourself
I'm an autistic gaming obsessive who should probably get out more. At this point, I lack a premium subscription, but if things go right, I'll have one on Saturday.

I've been playing games since age three (as in, since 1997), and I'm one of the people who will defend them as an art form.

Hey,

I'm new to the site. My real name is Melanie, I'm 28 from Canada. I was really excited to find this site. I was actually trying to hunt down the game Willy Beamish because I remembered from my childhood and stumbled onto this site. I already beat Willy and can't wait to play a bunch more. Anyways, just wanted to say hey to everyone :) Looking forward to posting in the forums.

Does this include people who own a GT account for some time but didn't give the forums any attention and joined premium lately? :D
Well, then:
I'm Simon, 20 years old, from Germany and I usually only play the newer games (Damnation, Prey,UT3) on GT. My favorit genres are Shooters (FarCry 2), Action (Hitman, Tomb Raider) and Racing.
I joined GameTap three years ago after reading somewhere that GT offers Hitman (series) as free2play title.

As many others I encounter(ed) many problems with the new plugin based player.
I had to set up WinXP to play the games I paid for  . I just hope the GT tray program and further improvements will make it possible to play without errors on Win 7 (or Vista).

Well, the non-moderators will work hard to try to fix as many problems as possible.

I would comment on something about Backloggery but I already did.

Ooh, Germany. Are there lots of schnitzels?

Also, I'd reccomend the Sam and Max games.

lol - I think there are...
It depends on the region you live in. I live in the Black Forest and
- yes - we eat Schnitzel mit Spaetzle maybe once a week.
I don't think the people in the northern regions (Berlin, Hamburg) are eating that much Schnitzel. And of course there are many different kinds of schnitzel.
btw: It's NOT German it's Austrian -> Wiener/Viennese Schnitzel (as well as the sausage).

Oh and I've already played some Sam&Max games before joining GT and I'm rather bored of them ;) Although they would be a great way to improve my English since some jokes are quite hard to understand.

When I went to Austria practically the only thing I would eat was the Wiener schnitzel. I'm not a big fan of German food (which seems to consist mainly of sausages and sauerkraut, blech).

Give me your address and I'll send you a German cookbook (Or a pdf, which would cost much less)
You know, I could say When I went to Montana I only ate fast food 'cause no-one was able/willing/*insert excuse here* to cook
But then again I'd say don't judge a book by the cover.

PS: Maybe we should open a thread named intercultural exange and discussion :D

Judging by how well he writes English, I'd say er spricht Englisch quite well. Most Europeans are required to take it (English) in school, it's spoken practically everywhere.

English has been the "official" business language of the world for about fifty years now. Used to be French.

Ich spreche englisch so gut, because I'm obsessed with it :D
Every German student has to learn it in school but many people who are expected to speak English rather well (politicians, managers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bGKfvBG9sM ) make your ears bleed.
I don't (and probably will never) know why English feels so great for me ;) I just somehow can speak/write it nearly as good as my mother language.

Now that I've finished school I'm just afraid that I lose my speaking skills because there's no-one to talk to in English.
Anyone want to add me in skype (nick: the_second_man) or pay me a ticket to either London or New York?

Hey, I'm Mina. I live in New York.

Nerd, Bookworm, and Metalhead. (From 80s metal like Skid Row, to thrash like Sodom, all the way to Death metal like Death (harhar), and the occasional non-fail black metal like Marduk.)

I'm generally a console gamer, PlayStation lover. However I do have a 5 year long, on and off relationship with Everquest 2. I am currently saving up for the new expansion which came out this week and taking a break until I can get it. I'm Dramira, level 80 Shadow Knight on Nagafen server.

Hmm, thats all I can think of to say for now.

For real, right? I used to not even want to listen to them just because I thought itd suck being called "Death". Theyre **** awesome, though. I think they helped make the genre name. I dont really know how true and dont really give a damn, that much. I just listen to whats good, haha.
