 Woah! New interface?
Yeah, the interface for gametap is now totally different! Was this announced anywhere? I think it's better this way, though I wonder what prompted the change.

 Re: Woah! New interface?
Wasn't announced, it just appeared last Thursday morning. I particularly like the new search feature. But on the forums the smileys don't seem to be working anymore and when you quote someone the bottom line of the box is now missing.

 Re: Woah! New interface?
While the new search feature is neat, I would much rather they spend their time making the site work the way it is supposed to than making it prettier. I don't really care what it looks like if I can download and play the games I want, which I can't right now. But, it is a nice looking site that doesn't work well.

 Re: Woah! New interface?
I agree, they should work more on ironing the bugs out than making the site prettier.

 Re: Woah! New interface?
Ok......well.....checked both desktop and browser games which seem to be running smoothly. I agree the new search is cool and astonishingly enough is that my DL speed for 2 of the "new" games I have DL'd was over a 1000 at a constant pace. This has never happened. Besides the obvious new layout I wonder if some "behind the scenes" stuff took place to help the speed. Hopefully this is a sign GT is becoming more WIN 7 user friendly. I did also however have 3 or 4 WIN 7 updates pop up after being out-of-town and not accessing my laptop.

 Re: Woah! New interface?
Hey, remember me? I'm the kid that had a report due on space. Different folks work on various parts of the site, rest assured the devs are still working hard on a big functionality update (cough.. cough... tray app). Has anyone tried out the new Download To Own shop? Lemme know how your experience was, it was the majority of last week's update.

 Re: Woah! New interface?
You don't need to update the commercial interface. You need to be able to give people their CD keys in a reasonable timeframe ( hint: at purchase time). They end up in here on the forum swearing up and down that they have been scammed.
Also, your pricing on these games needs work. 49.99 for APB? They are going into "administration" mode, didn't you hear? The prices are not very competitive with steam, direct2drive or any other site. I recommend doing a deal of the week.

 Re: Woah! New interface?
Yea, thats the main reason I haven't really touched the store is cause of price things. On steam you find random sales of a bunch of games, plus some extra functions, I just don't see much of a big thing to make me want to buy the stuff here..

 Re: Woah! New interface?
The site doesn't seem to want to remember me anymore. I have to log back in every time I close my browser now despite having checked the "Remember me" box. Yes, I have cookies enabled and no, I don't have FF set to erase cookies upon close.

I had that problem for a couple of days but it seems to have gone away.

Go to Tools ->Options ->Privacy Click the "Show Cookies" Scroll down to the "Gametap" folder and open it Click the cookie named "autologin" Click the "remove cookie" button Log in to GT with the "remember me" box checked ... PROFIT!!! Note: These steps are for FireFox users only. IE users will need to ask someone else.

I did this awhile back, twice, and it worked for a few days each time but it's back to not remembering me again.

If you're back, does that mean the upcoming games list will be updating for the first time in 6 months?

I had to do it multiple times as well, but it seems to be stable now. I think they were just repeatedly breaking the cookie as they messed with things under the hood.

Works fine for me. Maybe make sure you are using the latest version of Firefox.

I believe this was the issue; I also tried deleting the cookie but it still wouldn't remember me. It does now.

One thing I just noticed though is that they took the "players online" counter off.
