American McGee's Grimm: Beauty and the Beast

2008 | Adventure  Episodic  Action  | Originals | GameTap / Spicy Horse
(Add to Playlist) | User Rating 7.3 | Size 291.9MB

OVERVIEW:

Once upon a time, fairy tales were valuable cautionary yarns filled with dire warnings and sage advice. However, over time, the stories have become so watered down with cute woodland creatures and happy endings that they have lost their true meaning and purpose. No more! Happily Ever After ends now!

In this episode, when a man is caught stealing a rose from an enchanted castle, the Beast who owns the castle offers to spare the man's life in exchange for possession of his daughter, Beauty. Beauty is forced to live in the castle, and as we all know, ends up falling in love with the not-so-savage Beast. But, how would the tale of the fair maiden and the monstrous Beast be told if Grimm had his way?

    ISSUE: Grimm hangs during loading.

On some machines with dual-core CPUs, the game may start successfully once but fail to load on subsequent attempts. This failure typically occurs before or during the splash screen and may be accompanied by excessive CPU usage by GrimmGame.exe. This is a known issue and will be addressed in a future release of GameTap.

SOLUTION: Changing the CPU affinity or priority of GrimmGame.exe in Task Manager while the game is hung may allow it to continue loading. The issue may also be intermittent; closing the game in Task Manager and launching it again may resolve the problem. In severe cases, fully closing the GameTap player may be necessary before launching the game again.
