Basics
3-D Ultra Mini Golf Deluxe is a simple but compelling game that challenges you with some of the most interesting mini-golf courses you've ever seen. This Deluxe version includes nine new holes not seen in the original, plus a number of improvements to the animation, difficulty system and ball control. You can play the game by yourself in any of the several single player modes, or with up to four other golfers over the Internet.
Controls
The controls are simple and straightforward, and the game includes copious online help to guide even the newcomers through the basics. You can control everything with just the mouse, holding down the left button to build up strength for your putt, then releasing to hit the ball. A wide variety of targeting options are available, including a putt line and similar targeting options so you can see your angle in relation to that of the hole.
Settings
In addition to the adorable and mesmerizing gameplay, 3D Ultra Mini Golf Deluxe offers just about every option and setting you can imagine, allowing you to customize your virtual golf experience however you like. Everything from the weight of your putter to the available targeting systems can be tweaked, so advanced golfers can really challenge themselves while newcomers can work up to the big leagues by taking it easy.
Courses
The game's 27 courses pose some difficult obstacles, and thanks to an adaptive system, each remains challenging no matter how many times you've played it. Nine courses are new in this version, while the other 18 are the same as appeared in the original 3D Ultra Mini Golf. Each has its own unique challenges, and several have secret areas or special surprises for players lucky enough to find them.
Tip: Putting
It's easy and common to overputt while you're getting used to the controls. Try not to put too much strength into your swing until you've got the physics of the ball mastered.
Tip: Bank Shots
This is mini golf, not the big leagues. You're not expected to whack the ball straight onto the green, you'll have to bounce it off of walls and obstacles all over the place. Aim carefully and consider the angle your ball will approach the wall you want it to bounce off of.
