Getting Started
There are three options at the title screen, including Start A New Game, Resume A Previously Saved Game, and Play Baseball Mogul Online. Since this is your first time up to bat, use the mouse to move the cursor over Start A New Game, then click the left mouse button. When you begin a new game, you'll be asked to select a team and a difficulty. Click the drop down buttons next to those options to make your selections, then click the OK button to proceed.
Season
Next, you'll be asked to select a season for your team. Click the drop down button next to the year 2006, then click one of the dates shown to select a team roster from that season. The date selected will determine the performance of your team; for instance, 1984's Detroit Tigers have a much better shot at winning the World Series than the Detroit Tigers of 1994. Click OK after you've made your decision, and the game will begin.
Games
When the game starts, a calender will appear on the screen, letting you select one of the games scheduled for the season. Click one of the dates on the calender, then click Yes in the window that appears to start that game. You can choose to experience the game first-hand, or let the computer simulate every play on its own by first clicking Finish, then Yes in the window that appears.
Pitching
All of the outfielding in Baseball Mogul 2007 is automated, so you'll only need to pitch while on defense. Several options appear in the center of the screen while pitching, allowing you to decide just how you'll send that ball over the plate. Click one of the available options, then click somewhere in the strike zone (the white rectangle in the center of the screen, next to the batter) to release the ball.
Batting
You have two options while on offense. You can either click one of the options in the center of the screen to anticipate the pitcher's next move, or click Don't Guess to attempt a hit in real-time. After you make your selection, click inside the strike zone to swing for the ball. If you clicked Don't Guess, the ball will be thrown in real-time and you'll have to aim for it as it crosses the plate! A solid hit will get you on base, while a sloppy hit will get you out!
Saving
A game of Baseball Mogul 2007 lasts for an entire season, so you may want to consider taking a break from time to time. Hold the Control key, then press S. Click Save in the window that appears, then OK. When you return to the game, you can resume your progress by clicking the Resume A Previously Saved Game option in the title screen. Click the game you saved earlier to continue playing it.
Tip: Management
There's more to the game of baseball than, well, baseball! Experiment with the options in the toolbar at the top of the screen to trade players, adjust ticket prices, and scout for new athletes. They'll improve your team and help you increase your profit margin.
Tip: Information, Please
Pay attention to the information bar on the left side of the screen. It will explain in detail what happened after every pitch and swing. Also, be sure to look carefully at the ball patterns shown in the upper left hand corner of the screen... they'll help you predict the next pitch when you're up to bat.
