Basics
Bowling has three different game variations: straight ball, curve ball and steerable. In straight ball, you simply position your bowler and tap the fire button to throw. In the curve ball variation, you position your bowler and toss the ball in the same way, but at any time during your approach you can push up or down to initiate a curve. You can only do it once, and the ball's trajectory will not change again, so timing is key.
Variations
Finally, the steerable mode plays like the curve ball variation, except you can constantly update your ball's trajectory by steering it. Obviously, this is the best variation to play for the highest score, even though it throws all the laws of physics out the window.
Tip: Difficulty
To really rack up the points, set the first-player difficulty to "two," and play on the steerable game mode.
Tip: Split Level
If you find yourself with a split (one pin on the top and bottom of the lane), aim just below the bottom pin for the best shot at picking up the spare. It's very difficult to pull off, but can be done.
