Getting Started

Press the fire button at the title screen to begin keying in your options. First, select the type of game you'd like to play. You can play a standard game of bowling or practice knocking over spare pins. After selecting the game type, choose number of players, slickness of the lane and the ball's weight. Finally, choose to be left-handed or right-handed. Then start!

Playing the Game

When it's your turn, press up to grab the ball. Position your bowler by pressing the move upward or move downward buttons, then aim your shot by holding down the throw button. A white circle appears on the lane; this illustrates where the ball will hit the pins. When the circle is aligned with the pin you want to hit, release the throw button to send the ball down the lane.

Scoring

As the ball approaches the pins, the camera view shifts, allowing you to see the action up close. When the ball strikes the pins, they scatter in various directions, knocking down other pins in their path. You receive points for every pin you knock over, and bonus points for knocking them all down in a single turn.

Winning

Each player gets two turns to knock over as many pins as possible. This is called a frame. There are ten frames in a game of bowling, with the player receiving three turns in the last frame if all pins are knocked over in the first two turns. When every player bowls ten frames, the game ends and everyone's score is shown at the top of the screen.

Tip: Change Options

Customize the gameplay by adjusting the options at the beginning of the game. For instance, use a heavier ball to add power to your throws, and change the slickness of the lane to make the game more challenging.

Tip: Use Spin

You can put spin on the ball by varying your aim and the position of your bowler. Varying amounts of spin can be used to hit the pins from the side, increasing your chances of scoring a strike.
