In late October 1962, at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis, President Kennedy orders the bombing of Soviet missile installations on the island of Cuba. The inevitable Soviet retaliation in Europe quickly spirals out of control, and global thermonuclear war decimates the superpowers.
