Getting Started

Press the one player start button to begin the game; if you'd like to compete against a friend, press the two player start button immediately afterward. When the pilot select screen appears, use the controller to highlight the character you wish to use, then press any action button to choose them. Next, select your mech type, then finally, the combat robot you wish to use.

Movement

After a short intermission, the game will begin with both you and your opponent on opposite ends of the screen. Use the controller to move your mech around the screen: press left and right to walk in those directions, down to duck, and up to jump. When your foe attacks you, press back on the controller (for instance, left if your mech is facing right) to block their weapons and fists.

Controls

Don't let your foe get in all the licks -- dish out a little punishment yourself! Press the light and heavy attack buttons for close-quarters attacks like punches. At a distance, press the beam button to fire a cannon or other projectile weapon. Finally, tap the boost button while holding any direction on the controller to propel yourself around the screen. Remember, you have a limited supply of boost and beam energy. Use both sparingly to give them time to recharge!

Goals

Each battle with a rival mech is split into three rounds, with each mech receiving a full bar of health. The first player to completely drain the opponent's health bar is the winner of that round. Win two rounds and your rival will explode, allowing you to proceed to the next fight. If you lose a battle, press the one player or two player start buttons before time expires to fight that battle again.

Tip: Super Attacks

Each mech has a super attack which can be performed when the energy bar at the bottom of the screen is filled. Hold the light and heavy attack buttons together to charge this bar, then press down, down-forward, forward, down, down-forward, forward, and one of the attack buttons to really lay into your opponent!

Tip: Disarming

Press forward, down-forward, and down, then an attack button while standing near your opponent to grab them and crush their combat arm. If the combat arm becomes weak enough, it can be torn from its joint and thrown to the ground, leaving them at a serious disadvantage!

Tip: Special Moves

Every mech has its own special moves, which can be performed by entering a joystick command, followed by a press of either attack button. For instance, Blodia's rising shoulder check can be used by pressing forward, down, down-forward, then either attack button.
