Gameplay Modes
Choose between Career Mode, Championship, and Rally World to begin. Career Mode is the bulk of the game, requiring players to advance through 11 tiers of challenges. These challenges often require specific cars to be used, so you’ll develop all sorts of skills and tricks before you reach the “Champion of Champions” challenge at the end!
Championship and Rally World
A Championship match is a series of several races with cumulative time -- if you do poorly on one race, it could ruin the entire set! Rally World is a single race on a single track and is good for novice players to get the hang of things before taking on the more demanding Career or Championship modes.
Difficulty
You’re allowed to select the difficulty for each race you play. The more difficult the race, the bigger your reward for completing it. Of course, that means the other racers will be more aggressive, more skilled, and more likely to run you off the road into a race-ending crash.
Tip: Co-Pilot
Your radio man will give you a heads-up on every turn as you approach. If you’re not going to study the instruction manual to memorize each one, you may very well have to memorize the tracks themselves or risk driving into the, well, dirt.
Tip: Money
Spend the money you earn unlocking new vehicles and “liveries”, or new paint jobs and decals for the vehicles you already own. With 46 cars and 186 liveries, you’ll have plenty to do.
Tip: Transmission and Brakes
You’re often allowed to choose between Manual or Automatic transmission and use of the Handbrake or Footbrake in the vehicles you use. Often a greater degree of control offers a competitive edge to more experienced players, but you should use whatever combination suits your play style.
